Look, i'd be the first guy on the block to buy blitz a beer.. and i'd prolly not be too far back in line when it came time to clock him upside the head with the empty.

yes.. as a venue for the exchange of ideas the o'club can turn into an ugly place... the world is also an ugly place.

i can sit back here on occasion and get plastered and can crank out the emotional word pictures to beat the band. it don't make me a better person than blitz.. just means i'm drunker, or more sober, or am making decisions keyed off of diffrent facts.

it all amounts to opinion.

opinions are like stunninghunks. some smell better than others.

right now, my stinky stunninghunk opinion is that america did the right thing. and i'm being just as much of an stunninghunk about it as i think i can.. under the current terms of venue.

i've had my mind changed a number of times here by a clear presentation of facts that challenge my opinion.. the o'club has certainly it's fair share of debaters that base their opinions on clear concise data with footnotes, links, historical perspective, and rational logic.

but, when i see blitz argue 'amirica is threatend in no way....' after Toad calmly kicks every leg his arguments have out from under him and he still spouts the same convex wrap yer twisted mind around this next slippery non-fact,  i get this incredible urge to reverse the tallneck in my hands and get buzy with it.

wallah.. stunninghunk contest.

*sigh*

I'm saving my empties. I migh need 'em. waste not, want not, yah know....

Exactly.

Some people present very good arguments to oppose this war.  I even agree with some of their points.

Some people ARE just anti american, though, no matter how much they try to deny it.

Here's the deal.. if you constantly haul up arguments to point out how we are the worlds true source of evil, and you trot out the tired old arguments to make your point like vietnam, you supported saddam, your just making war for oil, you really don't give a damn about suffering civilians casualties, your administration is corrupt, your military makes war on babies, etc etc etc..

Hangtime, old pal, are ya telling me I have been anti-American again? Sheet, pass the doobie bud, gotta be some good stuff yer smoking.

I'm so close up yer Yankee butts I can smell what ya had fer breakfast yesterday.

So, what I am asking for is some kinda recognition that perhaps there are more to Europeans than just French and Germans. That perhaps, maybe, possibly, the world ain't black and white. And that, maybe, being cold blooded and thinking things through is a better approach than purposedly miscontruing statements so it looks as if everyone else is out to get ya as soon as they disagree just the slightest.

Nah, I ain't gonna kiss yer fat larded arse no more Hangtime :D. Go bully someone; if my services ain't appreciated; well, there are loads of people in the world who love people with dexterious tongues.

Yes, i am owned by two cats.

they are the bane of my existence, and are constant reminders of the fact that humans are of no use to this planet beyond opening cans and renewing the cat litter.

today, iraq; tomorrow, the cats.

ahh.. you came aboard after the 'hairball saga'.

Hairball was one of those one in a million felines that had more angst wrapped up in one dirty look than all the gestalt packed into the mindless meows of blitz.

I miss Hairball terribly.. the two morons that populate this dump in her place don't even seem to be the same species.

Hairball.. hope yer still kickin bellybutton in cat heaven.

The absolute funniest thing I've ever read on the internet. Painfully funny. Brought wife to the computer funny. Sent links to freinds funny. Printed out a copy and took it to work and busted a gut just reading it over their shoulder funny.

OK, I was drunk first time I read it. So what. It was funny.

sadly.. the original hairball sagas are lost. i'm pretty sure they predate the current AH bbs search/archive function, and the hard drive i wrote them on passed away not too long after hairball made her last landing.

damn, but that was one hell of a cat.

LOL I remember that saga, and what the coke did to my monitor. Laughed so hard my stomach hurt :D.

hang, am in for the greencard lottery thingy since it's close to impossible to get a sponsored hi-tech visa with the econom being what it is. Failing that I'll come over on vacation next summer unless a cat drops a monitor on my head :D

Sounds like you got a good taste in food and wine. It'll be fun to find out just how good :)
