Tempest MkV has a height of 4.9m(16ft 1in). I think it is the 'tallest', excpet for the Boeing XF8...that thing is HUGE!

Well, I suppose you might call the Firebrand a fighter, in the same way the Skyraider was a fighter. ;)

A1 Skyraider  has never been called a fighter or intended to perform a fighter's job. Firebrand's designation was torpedo-fighter, but it came too late into the war. I don't know what it was used for in the post-war era.

To be precise, the Firebrand was designed as a fighter, but it turned out so big it was more useful with a torpedo hanging under it...

I thought everybody knew the F-105 Thunderchief was the biggest, heaviest single-engine/single-seat fighter ever made:  length 64'3" for single-seat versions, GW up to 40,000 pounds, all pushed by a single P&W J75.

OK, it's not a prop job, but it's the spiritual successor to the Jug :)  Thuds rule.

Actually some versions of the Thud got up to 55,000 lbs!
Someday I hope there's a sim where we can fly the F-105 for the mission it was designed for.  NOE supersonic nuclear strike against the Rooskies.
