any chance of input axes for trim?

it'd be very spiffy if I could assign a rotary axis (or any axis) on my HOTAS to elevator and aileron trim controls in Aces High.  I know this has been asked for in the past, but I recently was able to experience trim axes in IL-2: FB, and it was very nice.  

maybe this is going to be a feature in AH II?  :)

Seconded!  My Saitek X-45 has two knobs that are begging to be used for something good in AH.

my X45 allready does do trim

you have to split up the rotary into 3 bands then space them evenly....
make the middle do nothing and the outter 2 do "k" and "i" or something.

I think Nifty is speaking about true analog trim, like its work in IL2.

Ditto... have mine set up the same way as JB73, except mine arent split evenly.  I went like 40/20/40 with my bands.

What OS are you using and what version of the saitek drivers?  I can't even access my rotaries with XP, and would like to.

Windows XP Pro, and I'm just using the OS drivers from Microsoft for it: 5.1.2600.1106.

you need to have the updated drivers for XP.... ill let my CO JB42 know you looking .. he'll post here prolly (Im runnin 98se V1.02 x45 drivers)

By the way,  if your computer goes wacky one day, check to see if your x45 rotaries are in the middle band or not.

Wasted 3 hours one day trying to figure out what was sending signals to my computer.

This was brought up to HT a while back and he was pretty receptive but had some issues regarding autopilot in that turning it off would effectively put your plane back to the analog settings which could be way out of trim.

I have no idea what he ultimately decided.

All you guys running Saitek...how did y'all ever get the silly thing calibrated?? I gave up on AH after about 2 months after years of FR Air Warrior cuz I couldn't get my stick to calibrate well enough that I could be competitive with everyone else. Fun value was almost non-existent.

In short, I got tired of gettin' dead every time I took the plane from the horizontal. :)

Also, mine is the USB/analog model. Does anyone else have this problem?
Setup and cal stick under Win2k, everything fine. Reboot machine at some point, have to unplug stick and reattach for Win2k to see it again.

you also need the win 2K / XP drivers .. (they are both based on the same kernel)

that should fix it
