Now if I was actually in the military, I would have gotten my squad emblem done, or something.

I never wear short sleeves so I can get away with an armband.

And now that BGB thinks it's a good idea....forget it. :D

Dowding likes tatoos......

I have numerous tatoos. My right arm is about "sleeved". My left forearm is covered. My legs below my Knees are about covered. On my neck I have the tree of life on the back and 2 ravens under each ear.

My left arm above on my wrist I have a ghostly image that originally on an album from the band "Black Market Babies" above that I have "Pinhead" ( avatar). The back of my legs I have words. I have a gGrim reaper on my lower right leg that goes from my ankle to my knee.

Numerous other stuff.

But my best friend from High school is a tatoo artist so I didnt pay for umm.

My younger brother is wrapped in ink. When he was 13 my buddy put a badass executioner on his upper right arm.

You lived 32 years with out umm theres no need to start now. Once you get 1 and realize "hey that wasnt too bad I think I'll get another".

Hiya's,
Personally i wouldn't have one done (just my opinion)

I had 6 when i was 16-18

I ended up having 4 removed with new laser technology

Cost me like £50 for the 4 removed tats and laser treatment cost almost 1k

Wish i had spare cash to remove last tats

And before anyone asks tat pain outa 100 is say 25  laser removal =100 outa 100 for pain and 100 outa 100 for cost   lol

I have a jail-house type tattoo on the top of my left wrist that I have been self-conscious of for 25 years.  When I put it there I thought that if I placed it in that specific location it would not show when I wore my wristwatch.  A moment of lucidity during a period of drunken debauchery in Naples, Italy (on liberty).

I have never owned a wristwatch .  Seemed to make sense at the time tho.

I would like to have it removed.

"I read that tattoos are a leading cause of getting your leg ripped off by an Eldorado."

Ya know.... now that I thnk about it... you are right funked..

with tatoos.... you are never naked.

In the past... some explanations were needed for anything but a unicorn and peace sign when the clothes started coming off for the first time with that new girlfriend but... these days 14 year old girls have em (tatoos)...

still... flaming SS daggers and women chained to posts and stuff still are cause for explanation.... ancient Harley tatoos sorta stand out too.

Tattoos are ok, I would not do any names But think long & hard about doing it, as once you do it, you can't "wash" it off,

I have 3,  one on left forearm (tiger) right shoulder (eagle)

______________
Can some one please explain this overwhelming desire to get a Tattoo fo the first time in my life?

And does anyone know where I can view pics of tattoos to get some ideas?
______________

IMO you're going about it backwards.

it's like a person who decides they want to be married and then goes and looks for someone to marry.  they will never be happy with what they end up with.

I kicked around the tat idea when I was younger and came up with this idea- when I found a design I like I'll wait 1 year, if after a year I still want it. then I'll get it done.  not jsut still wanting a tat but still wanting that particular tat, unchanged for at least a year.

now it's 20 years later and I've still got no tats.  I look back at all the designs I considered and was sure I wanted (probably dozens), and I am damn glad I didn't get any of them. I'd stilll be stuck with designs that I ended up being sick of in less than a year.

or you could always do what my little brother did. get your girlfriends name in 2" letters across your chest 3 weeks before you break up with her.  that way every time you're with another girl she can have something to read.

I am gonna get my avatar tatooed in on my left arm. Maybe, but probably not.

Right one'll have another, so it's occupied :D. Maybe, but probably not.

'What about the future, if you regret it?'. Bah, the assumption being that there is a future. Might die tomorrow. Who cares, anyway? :D

Go for it d00d. If you live to regret it; then have it as reminder and be grateful that you've made it that far :D
