Wouldn't it be neato if the hard working tireless people at HTC one day gave us a steam puffing locomotive steaming around the arena on its tracks . I know that planes and vehicles are priority for the time being, But it's just an Idea that I thought I would share .

How about a constant stream of trains going between the factories and cities and airfields and vehicle bases?  Lots of trains....

At the age of 8; my finest hour was the utter destruction via firecrackers and lighter fluid of my brothers prized lionel train set.

The next highpoint came at age 9; when I succesfully torpedoed the bastids Texaco Tanker.

Ships and trains..   yah. neato.

LoL Hang!

I used to float my model ships on a flooded part of my yard in the spring, and destroy then with my BB gun. I also used to load up my model airplanes with fire crackers, light them up, then throw them into the air. WHEEEE!

Hehe, the things we used to do before computers, eh?

I became disillusioned with model ships (battleships, destroyers.. etc) when I discovered there wasn't really a decent way to blow them up in a way that depicted a realistic explosion.  Setting them on fire was kinda cool... but there was no loud bang.

I found model airplains and cars to be much more satisfying in these regards.

The only trains in the house were my fathers... and even as a child I wasn't quite that suicidal.

hehe I used to build my model airplanes, then take a lighter, a needle red food color and a bunch of cotton.

I'd finish the models then get the needel red hot w/ the lighter.  Then i'd put bullet holes into the models    I'd then take the cotton and make smoke from the holes, using the food color to color the cottor red to simulate fire

I had a whole air battle hanging from my bed room ceiling at age 9

You realize of course that a sawed off .22 with birdshot is the equivelent of 20mm when shooting at 1/48 scale model planes.  Many a B17 met its fate via that method.

Ah, the joys of growing up on the farm.

It sounds as if your .22 was overmodeled too

hi all:

for me it was gas powered planes, the kind that fly in a circle on a couple of strings.
spend a couple hours struffing a ping pong ball full of match stick heads, gun powder, and one good size fire cracker. put a long fuse on it, stuff it into the plane, fire up the little gas engine, have a friend hold the plane, run to the controll lines, have friend lite the fuse, plane takes off, around a couple times and if the fuse did not blow out, KABOOM

and thank god my perants never found out.

Milo! I never thought of that one!

Damn, good thing I'm still a kid at heart!

Yeah and I used to know a guy who killed his teddy bear with a 410.  Wouldn't it be neato if there was less interest in just blowing something up and more interest in overall gaming goals.

Have some of us just been chastised?

Isn't the goal of this game to "just blow things up?"

I would build model planes with the intent of blowing them up.  I would glue bottle rockets inside the airframes and wire all the fuses together as I built the model.  Then wait for the glue to dry, apply the decals, light the fuse, and get out of the way...

Something even cooler, and less expensive, is to tape a bottle rocket onto a paper airplane.  Then you light the fuse and throw the plane out a third story window.  The plane will fly normaly until the fuse hits the bottle rocket which will cause the plane to zoom into a loop after which- POW!  Then burning pieces of paper airplane fall out of the sky.  Very satisfying.
