Another serious bug...
« on: October 22, 2000, 04:20:00 PM »
I took off from 3 as a Rook.  I spotted a Knight Panzer shooting at 3.  I went out and killed him. It said I shot down Gunthr.  I then see a ground unit about 5 clicks SW of 3.  I ehad toward it and see a Knight Flak unit.  I head toward him and he kills me. Guess what it says... Gunthr killed you.

Amazing how quickly he respawned so close to 3.  I asked him about it, he laughed and said he killed me. That's all he said. I'd say he better explain or this bug needs fixed.

Some spawn points for Vehicle Hangers place your vehicle a good distance from the actual hanger itself. Some are very close to nearby bases ... as with the situation you described.

Jeezus funked, whats with you playing bug forum police.

I believe this is a GENERAL DISCUSSION forum, and while talking about bugs is of a specific topic, it is ALSO general discussion...

What Exile said.

It's not a bug, it's a spawn point.

Jeezus Antix, whats with you playing helping newbie police.

I believe this is a GENERAL DISCUSSION forum, and while talking about bugs is a general topic, there is a SPECIFIC FORUM for bug reports that the moderator and the programmers have repeatedly asked that we use.

I don't think a FRIENDLY reminder to a newbie that he might want to post in the correct forum is at all out of line.  Especially when said newbie has established a pattern of reporting non-existant bugs and problems in the wrong forum.

Of course I actually play the games whose BBS I post on.  So I am actually concerned that bugs get fixed in a timely fashion.  I can see how my attitude might not make sense if one is unencumbered by such concerns.

Ok let me get this right. There is a spawn point approximately 8-10 clicks SE of A3?

Also, there is nothing there. No buildings nothing. He spawned on plain terrain.

Yup...I can't say specifically that there's a spawn point where you mention, but it's likely.  The spawn points for vehicles don't have buildings near them...they're designed to make driving a vehicle more feasable, since driving to the nearest base from a vehicle field in a panzer would take hours.  In this latest terrain they seem to be a lot closer to other fields than in the previous, but it makes for some pretty interesting battles

Spawn points are not visable at all. That's why they are called spawn points. They spawn from a vehicle field sometimes 25-40miles away. This is to alleviate the dweebs.. I mean tank drivers driving time to attack nearby airfields.

I think it's great fun...

Someone will be near or attacking a base, and I'll grab a tank, we'll exchange Panzer fire, he/she will usually get me .  If I get them they are usually back soon and the fun continues.

Friendly reminder to a newbie is one thing, but you did the same thing to me when I posted about technical issues in a thread called "Funny", I'm not a newbie.

Oooh, almost missed that comment about me not being an online player of Aces High... Well, seems to me I can get the same'old terrain tile missing a plane under it, and other such old Hitech bugs back in Warbirds for 5 bucks less a month! And in reading your precious bug forum, there are A LOT of old bugs from warbirds transfered over here.

So, because I'm not a paying member over here, according to you I can't follow its progress nor comment on its progression. two words for ya... PISS OFF.

Last I checked, this is america bub, free to talk what I want, where I want.

No, you're right, thats exactly what it was.

He appears to have a habit of it.

The topic had already downgraded to general discussion with Exiles post.

Besides, I doubt I'd ever see "Sorry we can't get to that bug in time, well...simply put, you posted it in the General Discussion forum rather than the bug report forum."

Fscott, I apologize if that sounded insulting.

Antix, whatever.
