F4U-4....30K...no ping kill by fluffy ack.

Any other (non perk) plane, dance on the deck in enemy fleet, RTB. It's bad enough the perk tags get enough attention, but this nonsense makes flying perk rides just not worth it anymore.

You win. I'll be in the JV rides from now on.

(Hoping for some serious corrections in AH2)

What difference does it make?? For what it's worth, I was searching for the enemy fleet while avoiding the gangbang, that comes with flying perk-tag airplanes.

You are mistaken. Perk tags don't generate any increased attention. So say the "Perks are great the way thay are " crowd.

You and I are simply too stupid to realize that we're not getting gangbanged and that is just the normal level of attention that we get in anything we fly.

Don't fly on a steady course with puffy ack exploding around you. It has the ability to plot your course, thus becoming increasingly accurate. I feel your pain, as I too have lost a few planes (perkies included) because of this.

Maniacal, as soon as the puffy ack started up, I was rolling and making alt-couerse adjustements...I didnt intend on getting into their ack field, and as soon as I did, I went pop

You are right though, I just didnt have ANY time to adjust and get out of it. Although just today I again divebombed through the ack, and RTB'd, in a non'perk ride, it's just too much of a coincedince, IMO

ive seen the same. ive flown in CV ack for over 30 mins constant shooting at me, no hits, rtbed fine.

in a 262 got to close to CV, 1 salvo of ack, puff puff boom ded. i was @ about 25k @ about 450 knots.

Let's do a statistical tests:

- set up a head to head arena (considering it's the same there) where perk rides are free.
- use a map with air starts (or wind) to get to 30k quickly.
- fly a formation of f4u-1ds and fu4-4s at 30k over an nme carrier, same airspeed of course.
- repeat multiple times with aircraft type changing positions within the formation.

Actually, I was gonna ask everyone if they thought fleet ack had been "improved" somehow this time around on Trinity. I died at least half a dozen times to the 5" flak this past weekend, and it's usually a pretty rare event.

The 5" guns on the grassy gnoll have special "anti-perk-plane" code. It is not a coincidence that HTC is located in the Dallas area!

Experience from the latest scenario:

Even the surely non-perked a6ms, which are really really slow and thus shouldn't be hit by ack at all to common knowledge, suffered many many hits when flying 25k over an enemy fleet. Even with ack setting 0.7(?).

I've lost 2 chogs to friendly fluffy black ack this tour alone, while pursuing an enemy. What also annoys me is black fluffy ack shooting through hills/mountains to you when you are not even in LOS.
