Our country (Knits) has alot of armchair generals obssessed with landgrabbing. When I see/hear some guy telling us what we should be doing ,it  just makes me want to furball all the more.

The Rooks did run alot of resupply and Goons from Bases several sectors back to make base captures.

Overall Id say the Landgrab game was about a draw.   The knights fought well and made it a tuff fight the entire time I was flying.  The Rooks were also persistant and put forth alot of effort.

Maybe your being hard on your country men,  From the opposite side of the fence,  The knights were doing just what you were asking for.    Sorry if we Rooks did not coopperate.   ;)

I wasn't against furballing Sunking was was asking people to pork the barracks at some key fields they were attacking anyways to help prevent the rooks from captureing our bases because we were out numbered and I knew this would slow them down and give our bases time to rebuild. For the rooks to capture a base they would have to fly a goon from 75 to 100 miles away or more.  If i'm fighting at 1 base or attacking 1 base why is it wrong for me to ask the knights for a little help or cooperation at another base?. If Im defending a Gv attack at Base A, the GV's are upping from Base B which is under knight attack, why can't I request to have the Vehicle hanger destroyed so the enemy can't reup? Is that really too much to ask, too outlandish to grant.  It has nothing to do with being an armchair general. It has to do with eliminating a threat so my resources can be used else were.  If I wanted to do endless tank battleing, I would just go to Tank town and be done with it.

Hi All.. I don't post often but this one thread that gets me cranked up... I agree with some.. the grass isn't greener in other countries... I am a Rook.. I enjoy the strat of the MA.. ie..take bases and work for the reset... on the other hand, some  just enjoy the furball.. I used to think that furballing was what the DA was for.. however, its attendance when I am on is always miserable...same with CT.. I don't blame the furballers at all for coming to MA to get a fight.. Hopefully AH2 will remedy this.. until then, moaning about no cooperation in the strat part of the game is useless... And yes I don't break for paragraphs.. whats the point? IMHO..this is a memo :)

Screw the way it was designed to be played. I play for the atari style dogfight. I will furball to my hearts content while not paying any attention to the guys like you who want to win.

winning the war is kinda stupid all that happens is you reset and have to fight the war again! lame lame lame.

Ill furball thankyou.

It's been so long since I've had any interest in "the war" so to speak. And as for strat, well I think that went out the window long ago (if it was ever there to start with).  Given there are no real strategic targets as such, especially for bombers that seem to have no real purpose at all other then to provide easy kills.

Eventually winning the war is nothing more then organised mass raids of who ever has the most numbers, swarming a base, capture, rinse and repeat for the next map.

Rather boring imho.

med.. the solution is simple... you need to change countries.. there is a country that thinks "winning" the war is way better than having a good time... It is no coincidence that they fly under the dildo icon.

I would suggest that all the generals and land grabbers fly under the dildo icon.

There are players out there that just don't really care about capturing base or if any of their bases are being captured. In other words, they are not online to offer any real assistance or constructive teamwork to hep achieve the goals of the country they belong to.

You mean the United States? I fly AH to have fun, dogfighting others in simulations of WW2 fighter planes. It's what the game does best -- its primary reason for being. I play other strategy and tactics games -- ones that offer real challenges in those areas -- for that fix. I've been known to play Civ-3 or (back in the day) DOS Empire for 14 hours straight. Sorry, although AH does a better job at strat than AW it's just not there for me yet. The"strat" in the arenas today is the gangbang steamroller that is more like tic-tac-toe, and that got boring at about age 6.

However, I will help out in offense or defense if I happen on a reasonable struggle for a base that provides good action in the process, down to escorting a c-47 or taking out a train, etc. However, the more people rant, yell or whimper the less motivated I become.

IMO playing AH for strat is like buying a Porsche for the leather interior.

But you know, in this era of extreme liberalism, selfishness and self centeredness, when our country is down to 2,3 or 4 to1 odds you would think that the furballers would stop being so selfish minded and help the others who are actually tryng to play this game the way it was designed.

LOL, I just caught this one. Bunch of Freakin' Clintons! :) Nice assumption. The folks at HTC sure wasted a lot of time modeling WW2 era fighters that can be flown in 3 dimensional space with realistic flight, weapon and damage models. Perhaps AH2 will be a turn-based, 2 dimensional hex-grid format like it should have been from the beginning.

This reply will either help clear things up or dig my self a bigger whole by creating more controversy.

Maybe I need to explain my self requarding my original post without resulting to name calling and insults as others seem to gravitate to.  I want to make this perfectly clear. I am in no way one of those people who tries to force some one to be apart of something they are not interested in participating in at that time for what ever the reason

Air Warrior, War Birds 2 & 3 were designed to be a simulated war were the objective was to win the war by captureing bases flying WWII era equipment.  Aces High MA is no different.  If this was not the design of the MA, then what would the purpose be for bombers, ground vehicles, captureable bases, troops, AAA, bombs, rockets, etc?

My frustration stems mostly from the knights defensive tactics when were are conciderably out numbered more so than their offensive tactics. In general, when 1 of our bases is under attack, either from GV's CV's or Fighters, The knights will just furball the IB bogies ,swatting them down like flies in the begining, only to be crushed in the end and lose the field, after having the base porked by suicide attack planes.  But that's all they wanna do is furball..(i mean obviousely not everyone)  Nobody, it seems, wants to go kill the CV or VH or pork the barracks, fuel or ammo or what ever to prevent the enemy from captureing the base.  I have to admit, I'm not always in the mood to fly a goon or fly attack missions either. Sometimes I just wanna up a light fighterand mix it up with other fighters (furball).  But when it comes down to crunch time I'm willing to help out. whether its to fly a goon, pork a base or what ever. You need players(furballers) to up planes and defend the base so others can go out and illiminate the source of the threat.  Thats what a team is.  Furballers do help tie up enemy resources, no doubt about that, so I believe players can furball and help out offensively or defensively as the case may be, but at the same time, they also should to be willing to help out (when help is asked)with out copping an attitude.  And FYI we need players to take charge and make reccomendations as to what needs to be done to accomplish a goal. But those players get chastized and get called Arm chair generals and told to kiss off.
Yes I know I suck, other wise youuuuu would be dead so stop bragging.
