The more organized the "missun" the more it is a steamroller gangbang that is no fun for anyone who enjoys air combat..  the very best fights happen between 2 close fields or the CV's...  when the momentum swings or some attention starved newbie kills the FH's or something at one of the furball bases us furballers just move on... we don't care if it was our base that was finally overrun or theirs...

I sometimes am glad that we are down to 4 or 5 bases so long as they have fuel and dar so that there will be some good fights.

as charon says... the so called "strat" is for 6 year olds at best.  Who cares anyway?   the REAL strat in AH is..... the country with the most numbers is the best steamroller.   Not exactly rocket science.

I don't care who "wins" the war and I won't lift a finger to "help" my country if it isn't fun...   I will however dive into a group of five cons chasing a friendly.

The sooner people get over this "win the war" silliness the sooner we can get back to some good fights.

If we all did that, the furballers would not have any fields to launch from, thereby negating the furballer factor.

Think about it.

If you want to furball, you need a field to do it from. If we're down to 3 fields, your never gonna get wheels up without getting vulched by 20 Kill starved vulchers.

Meddog-

You're never going to convince the instant action crowd. Don't bother, it's been tried before and no one has ever succeded.

The furballers are going to their thing, and never pay any mind to what the "Icon" needs. They pay their money, and it's their right.

The strats will continue to be frustrated until they find that out of 100 knights on, they have 40-60 players who want to play for the team. Those are the ones you direct you attention to, and leave the furballers to do their thing.

You'll see plenty of cooperation tonight within the knights.

Don't kill yourself about this. I know your frustrated. So am I. I get tired of logging in and seeing a red map. Prehaps AH2 will be the fix.

And I must admit, when time is short, I'll look for the quickest, least strategic fight, just to get my fix.

Put up missions, and you'll see who are the strats and who are not.

Good Luck.

There was no "win the war" in AW. Some fields weren't even capturable, iirc. It was all about pilots and fighting. Aces High is different. Personally, I like to shoot all the other stuff you mentioned too--PT boats and rockets and tank guns and a FP at hi speed can be a blast. I'll join a mission occasionally if it looks well thought out and has a good plane set. Or up 6 times to kill a spawn camper or constantly up zeros or hurris at a capped field. I fly Knight but I'm not concerned w/ "winning" --to me it's nothing more than a terrain change. Protecting a wingie is more important than the screaming CAPS of the generalz.

Point is, our goals are not yours. Until you recognize this, your frustration will likely continue. We play a different game with different priorities so please don't take it personally when you or other generalz are ignored.

AH didnt used to be focussed on the pure land grab. With the influx of new players that basically suck in fighters the only way they can "contribute" or rationalize the 15 bucks a month is by "winning the war".

They used to just become "fluffers" Now they are arm chair generals who are just waiting to lead us to victory if we would just let umm.

They whole land grab, strat aspect of the main is just silly.

The land grab is there to facilitate a2a combat. Not the other way around. The whole mind set around war winning is what produces the pork auger guy or the enmass suicide jabos.

If your idea of fun is blowing up undefended buildings then have at it. Just dont demand others cater to your style of "fun".

Some folks just want a few good fights......

My frustration stems mostly from the knights defensive tactics when were are conciderably out numbered more so than their offensive tactics. In general, when 1 of our bases is under attack, either from GV's CV's or Fighters, The knights will just furball the IB bogies ,swatting them down like flies in the begining, only to be crushed in the end and lose the field, after having the base porked by suicide attack planes.  But that's all they wanna do is furball..(i mean obviousely not everyone)  Nobody, it seems, wants to go kill the CV or VH or pork the barracks, fuel or ammo or what ever to prevent the enemy from captureing the base.  I have to admit, I'm not always in the mood to fly a goon or fly attack missions either. Sometimes I just wanna up a light fighterand mix it up with other fighters (furball).  But when it comes down to crunch time I'm willing to help out. whether its to fly a goon, pork a base or what ever. You need players(furballers) to up planes and defend the base so others can go out and illiminate the source of the threat.  Thats what a team is.  Furballers do help tie up enemy resources, no doubt about that, so I believe players can furball and help out offensively or defensively as the case may be, but at the same time, they also should to be willing to help out (when help is asked)with out copping an attitude.  And FYI we need players to take charge and make reccomendations as to what needs to be done to accomplish a goal. But those players get chastized and get called Arm chair generals and told to kiss off.

I love you for caring :D  and congrates on the spaces between paragraphs

I think a lot of that has to due with the individual's reputation within his/her own country.

There are a lot of guys that the others will follow as soon as help is asked for and there are some that the others will ignore when help is asked for.

muck... I wouldn't mind if all the "strat" guys flew under the dildo icon.. let em take fields all they want... let em win all the wars they want... I will have new fields after the reset.   Unless every one of the little worker bees all take off from one field there is bound to be some fights.

I have no interest in "missuns" or an arena based around escort and fluffs.

The "strat" there will be exactly like the strat here.... The country with the largest number of players wins.

laz...you got an individualist attitude toward a game of multitudes.....

fighting is fun......

destroying your base is fun ....

teamwork is fun.....

gv's are fun.....

low alt. bombin is fun....

if you play for yourself...cool...some play to have fun with others along side them.....

challenge is what I'm looking for....whether in gv's or bombers or fighters...as long as a challenge comes along.

One problem I see on a regular basis with the knights is resupply or the lack there of.  No one wants to stop vulching or score whoring long enough to resupply bases.  Even if you pork a base during a capture, take 10-15 minutes from your steam rolling and fly defensive cover while 5 or 6 of you resupply the base.  You would be surprised how fast that base comes up.

Actually, our squad has done this in the past. We've flown a few goons behind a capture mission that nearly destroyed a base. After our drops, the base was at 100% by the time the last goon landed. Further missions could up immediately from that field.

Med, you know I have nothing but respect for you. But, remember these words are all words used in conjunction with a SIM. AH has degraded to a game with mostly game players in it. It barely resembles a SIM any more and those of us trying to fly it as a SIM are suffering from the lack of cooperation from the game players.

hmm... let's see... building battling or killing planes...  gamey embarassing gv's or killing some real guy in a virtual ac...  flying around doing nothing or fighting a real person in a virtual ac that may or may not have the advantage on you...

furballs can have 2 or three squaddies involved with you... more if you are an AK...  Heck... most of us wish we could shut down local vox..  we get plenty of chatter.

I would like to thank all the the players who have responded to this thread with gracious thoughts of understanding and advice on the fact that I'm beating a dead horse.Your words of wisdom has been well taken (you all were right).  As for Lazs2, I look forward in taking your bases, vulching and/or shooting down your individuaistic, selfcentered & brainless piece of human flesh were the best part of you ran down the crack of your mommy's arse and ended up as a stain on the motel bed sheets, were the only cure for you is a 20MM frontal labotomy. Oh crap now I sound just like shane .  With that gents, this will be my last response to this thread. I have better things to do than waist my time trying to engage in an intelligent debate with someone who isn't, like making him my personal biatch in the MA. Muhahahahahaha. gees I crack my self up.  Lazs2 you have to tell me what country you fly for so I hunt you down.

P.S. Hey lazs2, why dont you have any scores for at least the last 4 months? (i didn't check any further) Do you spend all of your time responding to threads or do you actually get up and fight once in a while? Or do you have more then one name?

Bandaid is a brand name, in war that may be tuff to do so just bring a bandage instead! :D :
