No Engine/Vox Sounds
« on: April 18, 2003, 03:14:35 PM »
I'm having problems in that I can hear things like guns, gear, external planes...But my engine is a whisper..same with vox...I have cranked them up and down in sound settings but still no good..I even uninstalled/installed AH and added Mitsu's sound pack.

No fix yet..Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Go to your sound manager and make sure you have headphones selected, vice multiple speakers (assuming you are using headphones).  Multiple speaker setup will null certain areas of your plane, especially the center channel.  I have done this on occasion when I forgot to set things back to my headset for gaming...

Interesting, I've found a similar problem, but only with the Arado. I get the engine startup noise then it cuts off. No problems with vox.

Does all of you sound work outside the game?  It happens to me when I have the 5.1 audio selected and am wearing headphones.  The only other place to check in game is your sound settings and make sure you haven't inadvetantly turned any of them down. (probably not).  I would check my connections just to be safe too and perhaps reload/update the sound drivers.  This one sounds really weird.

Do you have the Creative SB driver patch?  I don't have the address handy, but I installed it on my system & it seems to have stopped my "microphone going soft" problem.

Creative Drivers

I couldn't get all the way in to your drivers... There was a patch for mine, maybe there is one for yours too. (You could always uninstall AH and reinstall it too).

Hope this helps...
