WHENEVER KINDNESS FAILS

Crossed the desert in a dining car
In the spring of '91
Met some people drinkin' at the bar,
They were laughin', havin' fun

Told 'em that I hadn't heard the joke
That was so hilarious
They said that I was just a dumb cowpoke
I didn't want to make a fuss

Chorus:
So I shot them down, one by one
And left them 'long the rails
I only use my gun
Whenever kindness fails

Moon was in the sign of Scorpio
The sun was at my back
I didn't know how far the train would go
Till the law would find my track

Saw the brakeman and the engineer
Drinking wine and eating brie
I asked them who would brake and who would steer
They started pointing back at me

Chorus

I only have a momment to explain
Just a chance to let you know
When it's time to board that train
There are 2 ways you can go.

You can ride the wind into the sun
Feel a cool wind on your face
Or you can laugh into a loaded gun
And you'll likely lose your place

Chorus:
Yeah I shot them down, one by one
And left them 'long the rails
I only use my gun
Whenever kindness fails

I shot them down, one by one
And left them 'long the rails
When I use my gun
That lonesome whistle wails

It was the middle of the night,
the Sun was bright,
the two dead boys got up to fight.
Back to Back they faced each other,
Drew their swords and shot each other.
The deaf policeman heard the noise,
and came and shot the two dead boys.
If you don't believe this lie is true,
Just ask the blind man he saw it too.

Standing on the beach
With a gun in my hand
Staring at the sea
Staring at the sand
Staring down the barrel
At the arab on the ground
I can see his open mouth
But I hear no sound

I'm alive
I'm dead
I'm the stranger
Killing an arab

I can turn
And walk away
Or I can fire the gun
Staring at the sky
Staring at the sun
Whichever I chose
It amounts to the same
Absolutely nothing

I'm alive
I'm dead
I'm the stranger
Killing an arab

I feel the steel butt jump
Smooth in my hand
Staring at the sea
Staring at the sand
Staring at myself
Reflected in the eyes
Of the dead man on the beach
The dead man on the beach

I'm alive
I'm dead
I'm the stranger
Killing an arab

Oh Meursault

Yep. 2 confirmed, two more unknown (but probable).

As a UN soldier our patrol we got struck by an enemy force who didn't want us there.  Shot back only to defend our team with my borrowed Scorpion.  Firefight lasted about 30 minutes until the rogues retreated with their dead and wounded. I remembe the first guy, he tried to sneak across the road.  Had to lead him by a foot.  Second I sniped as he was sniping the force we were protecting.  I shot two more with multiple hits but they were pulled back by fellow friends.   Lots of my buddies tagged a few as well.

At the last gun shot, it was Canada 18, Enemy force 0.

Strange thing about it, I could go into details for hours on the 30 minute gunfight on everything that happened. Everything before and after is just a blur.

Had nightmares for about 3 years after.

I was recently watching "Pulp Fiction" with a friend (hadn't seen it for years).  There is a scene where Bruce Willis is in a cab with a woman cabby right after he has killed a man in the boxing ring.  The woman asks him something like:

"How does it feel to kill a man?  How does it feel to beat a man to death with your bare hands?"

I don't remember what Bruce Willis said, but... what he should have said was:

"Lady, if you were married you wouldn't have to ask that question."

I think the question of this thread is being asked on the wrong BBS.

was doing a search for a shooting suspect w/ a K-9 officer and the dog alerted on a storage shed. We gave the warning and then opened the door. All I saw was a revolver and the sideblast from the poor cylinder/barrel lockup. I fired twice, the K-9 officer fired twice. We are here, he isnt.

I dont believe I have ever killed anyone. I have left people imobile though. They could have died but I dont thinks so.
They certainly remembered me the rest of their lives though.

Early one morning with time to kill.
I borrrowed Jebs rifle and sat on the hill.
I saw a lone rider crossing the plain.
I drew a beed on him to practice my aim.
My brothers rifle, went off in my hand
The shot rang out accross the land.
The horse he kept running
The rider was dead
I hung my head
I hung my head

I set off running  to wake from the dream,
My brothers rifle went into the stream.
I went on running into the south lands
Thats where they found me my head in my hands.
The sheriff he asked me why had I run,
Then it came to me, just what I had done.
All for no reason, just one piece of lead.
I hung my head
I hung my head

Here in the court house
The whole town is there.
I see the judge, way up in his chair.
Explain to the court room what went through your mind
And we'll ask the jury what verdict they find.
I said I felt the power, of death over life, I orphaned his children, I widowed his wife.
I beg their forgivness, I wish I was dead.
I hung my head
I hung my head

Early one morning, with time to kill
I see the gallows up on the hill.
Out in the distance, a trick of the brain,
I see a lone rider, crossing the plain.
He come to fetch me, to see what they done.
And we'll ride together to kingdom come.
I pray for Gods mercy, for soon Ill be dead.
I hung my head
I hung my head

The gun was a RG-38 revolver, one of those cheaply made revolvers from Fla. Not known for its tight tolrences in the mfg process. Modern revolvers cannot lock up too tightly as that would defeat the cylinder from moving, so you get 'side blast' Shoot one at night and you will see.

The incident above was a Colt Python .357 useing +P .38 Spl load

Now I carry a P-226 in .357Sig on duty
Off duty
Kel-Tec 9mm or P-229 in .40

The largest cal I have heard nowdays is the .45 ACP. CHP carries the S&W .40, I think they were the first to issue the .40

Backup.............no comment about the PPK/s inside my vest w/ three mags on the other side. if/when I go down it will be fighting.
