Since 911 was Americas fault and we should ask ourselves what we did that made the muslim/Arab extremests attack us, why don't we attack Saudi Arabia, Syria and Iran and let them and the world ask what they did to upset us?

If the US attacks Syria, it will not get any British support.

And what's with the 'we' part? It's so easy to advocate the use of force when you're watching it unfold thousands of miles away with a cold one in your hand.

Personally, I see NK, Israel/Palestine need to be in the main focus now.

BTW, I believe SirLoin was calling you a war-mongerer - can't think why - and not the whole of the USA. That's patently obvious.

Actually if SirLoin was calling only myself a war monger, it was not "patently obvious". He said "you war-mongers"...... mongers as in plural, more than one.

I started a thread about a biased BBC report about Jenin and his was the first response of the thread and he simply said: "the only things that are biased are the vacume tubes you war mongers live in" SirLoin responded to a post about a biased BBC report by calling some group that I was a member of war-mongers, which made no sense

Now if that was directed at me personally it couldn't have been more out of context. I have never posted anything that anyone could regard as war mongering.

This post was a sarcastic statement directed towards the type of person that said America should try to understand what we did that made the muslims so upset that they attacked us on 911........ as if it was our fault . I wonder if those same people would use the same logic if the reverse were true..... if America attacked the muslims for no reason. Would they question the muslims/ Arabs and ask them to look at the reasons America might have been upset with them?

Dowding I challenge you to find an example of my war-mongering.

SirLoin never responded to my question of which group (that I am a member) of he was refering to as war-mongers by the way. I don't think he can unless he is willing to look even more pathetic.

Perhapse SirLoin was refering to "people like myself" who post articles about BBC biased reporting. Maybe that's who he is calling war-mongers...... people that post about the media. After all, thats' what his response was to a post about BBC reporting in Jenin.

Anyone else getting sick of hearing this argument? Apparently citizens cant voice their opinion about war because they are not soldiers. Further from that... those pesky Army cooks better not give their opinion either... its the infantry doing the fighting... and those damn support troops... the 81 mike mike guys? Screw them - they cant talk either... 8 miles away from the front putting little warheads into a tube... the nerve... then of course there are the officers... damn them to hell... the enlisted man does the fighting and the officers shouldnt be allow to say anything... but wait... F those pansy frontline combat units that arent shot at and killed... the only guys that should be allowed to say anything about war are the dead guys!! They know whats really going on!! They were THERE man!! Wait...

It's also plain stupid to say that I can't say "we" in the context of discussing America's actions in any endeaver...... as I am an American and part of the "we" that are Americans

I can say: "we landed a man on the moon" or "we were attacked on 911" and I'm am somehow using the word "we" out of context" ?? That's simply redikulouss!

If I say "we are at war" and I'm an American and America is at war, I am using the word "we" in a proper context. So go away for today Dowding.

Maybe instead of saying "we are at war" I could say " the country that I live in has armed forces and they are currently fighting a war on behalf of our ( oops, can I use "our"???) country, but they are doing so completely on their own as a seperate entity from the United States.

I'm not going to argue SirLoin's point. However, I read that remark as lumping together of yourself with several others who are quick to advocate the 'might is right' approach to world affairs.

Arlo - there's a difference between caution and pacifism.

Now you're just ranting Saurdaukar, which must mean I hit the mark somewhere. Or perhaps you would like to compare yourself to a servicemen on the front-line or otherwise? But that doesn't change the fact that it's very easy to 'let slip the dogs of war' when you're in no personal danger yourself. I'm personally glad more consideration goes into these matters.

Dowding, Im good at ranting and homosexuals dont upset me. Im simply taking flawed logic and exposing it by applying it to different situations. You tend to make most of your arguments buy playing Devils Advocate, so the retorts shouldnt be a surprise to you at this point.

Arfann, "Bravery" has nothing to do with it. What you (and others that agree with you) need to understand is that those of us that may be pro-war in any particular situation are not armchair generals - we simply (in Iraq's case) agree with what the administration is doing, just as you may disagree.

Should GWB not have an opinion, let alone control over troops because hes "out of range?" Youre both barking up the wrong tree here.

That's just it Dowding, I never have been quick to advocate war and I certainly have never stated anything like that here. I have NEVER sated anything close to "might is right" approach.

I do feel the war with Iraq is justified, but that doesn't make me "quick" to advocate war.

SirLoin's comments were from out of the blue and didn't have a thing to do with the post he replied to....... he seemed to just be wanting to lash out for some reason.
