.... I feel my opinions carry a little more weight than those from other countries.

We put a man on the moon, you din't.  Your jealous, we're not.

If we feel we need to take out a few countries, we will.

I am great by virtue of being an American and everyone else needs to aknowlege the respect we have earned.

...and you are so modest.

You gotta be trolling here...allow me to retort:

If you come to my country and sprout that arrogance...I'll kill you.

If you ask for a McDonald's hamburger while you are here...I'll kill you.

If you are a homo...and touch me...I'll kill you.

....and there ain't nuthin Uncle Sam could do about it.

you keep thinking that nuke.  im not jealous of americans or america in any way.

Fair enough you put a man on the moon, wtg look how that has improved humanity.  Think of the achievements of other countries over the last few thousand years and you may realise you are not the only nation that is proud,  or then again you probably wont.

Um... if a nation develops a bad name as the result of the actions of the minority, the problem isnt with the action, but rather the interpritation.

Good thing everyone knows those commie protestors are the minority, huh?

we have a comedian up here in Canada named Rick Mercer.....

very funny guy....

did a special on American knowledge of Canada.....

boy!!...was it ever funny.....

will give you just 1 example.....

he went to Stanford Univ. in California......

went to ask questions to MED. students there.....

here's 1 of em....

RM: up in Canada we have a state called Quebec....in this state the Doctors are on strike....see the French doctors like to smoke a cigerette and drink some wine while they operate......now the Gov. of Jean Poutine has takin those privileges away...hence the strike......whatta ya think of that.

student1: wooow...doctors should be aloud to smoke if they want too....

student2: its up the the patient to decide if the doctor can drink or smoke......

student3: hmm you guys up there are pretty relaxed with the French aren't ya.....wait a minute....you got Frenchies up there

asked a women who was walking with her 8 year old boy in NYC.....

RM: hello mam....my question is how many states does Canada have?

women: I think you got like what 5 states or something....

boy looks at mommy.....shaking head

boy: MOM....Canada has provinces not States......

I've never been one to pound my chest and scream, America is the greatest.

I am a proud American, and understand many others around the world are pround of their nationality as well.

I am proud of the achievements we've made as a nation, but appreciate the contributions the rest of the world has made to civilization. From the ancient Greeks, to the Pasteur institute, almost every country in the world has contributed at some time or another, and we've capitalized on this, and stood on their shoulders to reach the point we find ourselves at.

However, I do not for a moment, sit back and say, America is the land of God. We invented it all, we perfected it all, and we'll be the rulers of the world forever.

Is it possible to be proud, yet modest?

What makes this a great nation

Isn't the fact that we have people who post idiotic things like Nuke has (I suspect he's trolling to get Slo and some others).

What makes this a great nation is the fact that he can't be shot, or even punished at all, for posting such drivel.

As for the space program, it was designed and implemented largely by German immigrants.

As for what the space progam has done to enhance humanity, well, that's a whole thread in and of itself, which I'll post right after I get done with this.

As for Canada, I know they have great fishing!
As for the UK, I know they have . . . . .  oh yeah, warm beer!
As for Sweden, well, they have a lot of blondes so that's a big plus.

See, I'm an internationalist, really!
