A gun amnesty brings in 17,000 guns.  So how does that affect the rate of gun crime?

A gun is an object, a gun crime is an act.

"We've not been naive about this," he said. "We're not expecting queues of gangsters to come in and hand in their weapons. We're trying to make it as difficult as possible for them to get their hands on weapons."

That's where it all falls down. As even Moore, in his wandering BFC, discovered in Canada, it's not the number of guns. It's something else.

Now, there are those that will turn the "search for the identity of 'something else' " into a great crusade...... it's pretty simple.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom, go from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Well, that's not a conclusion Moore came to in his documentary that so many anti-gun seem to swoon over. In fact, one of his "findings" is that is has to be something else.

And who can dispute Moore, eh?  ;)
