"Lost Host Connection" = Lost Perks

Me too on the seperation Zygote,   :D

Thing is if that 262 get shot by somebody at alt and that 262 doesn't tumble down, which it won't doing 400 mph, it will prolly crash 10k seperation from the adversary, and than it should lose perks if that adversary decided to "disco"?

Another tought came up; if this engagement takes place at 20k+ (very likely in 262) and it does go straight down, by the time it reaches the ground it has 20k seperation! If that 262 wonder decides to "disco" it shouldn't lose perks?

My suggestion would be to make a disco lose 1/2 the perks and allow 5 discos with this special reduction each tour. After 5 its too bad full perk loss.If you can afford 500 perks a month you will use the disco trick, if you cant afford 500 a month/tour like the majority of us you will feel much better about losing 100 compared to the full 200 and at least it will take half the time to finally stop swearing at the damn modem(ie 2 weeks!   :))

If someone regularly uses the switch off modem trick they can only do it 5 times max.
Start a new catergory in scores called 'discoed in perk ride' and we can see who 'conveniently' discos in perk rides   :)

of course the problem could just be its a bit too expensive.

BTW LETS GIVE JEHU HIS PERKS BACK PLEASE HTC!!  :D
his first 200 and he discos! thats GOTTA HURT!  :(

Rack it up to the cost of playing with the high priced toys. Lost a 262 to a disco myself last night so I know the pain.

Frankly thats one reason I seldom grab a perk ride, because you don't know when you'll lose connect.

I thought I heard someone say that if the server hadn't recorded damage packets on the plane, that the perks were halved or not lost at all on a disco.  This true, or just wishful thinking on someone's part?

"Easy" solution:

Only draw perks when kill is recorded - e.g.
*disco in fight when enemy is in kill range --> bad luck, perks gone

Leave perks when no kill is recorded - e.g.
*disco in nowhere-land on climb-out or whatever --> lucky bastard, perks stay

That way alt-F4 isn't too much of a problem and discos are a bit disarmed!

BAM!  That sounds like a great idea!  If  someone is in trouble and alt-F4’s the attacker gets a proximity kill don’t he?  Hitech, you may want to think about this one.  I can appreciate what perks are all about. However, the bottom line is I pay the $ every month to have fun. I can’t help but be very frustrated when I loose perks due to disco. Especially 200 of them.

Just a note: I lost another 262 yesterday on a lanc’s 6. I thought the sun would screen me. I was very wrong   :(

I was bummed. But I blew it. I can stomach that much better than seeing that little gray box saying “Host Lost” etc.!

BTW – I REALLY appreciate the constructive input in this thread. More than just a “rant”. Shows there are some class acts on the O’l AH sim. I also noticed they from all 3 countries. But don’t worry, when in the MA I won’t tell   ;)

The only problem with disco when no kill recorded is people discoing when out of fuel, the other guy dies, your perk ride takes damage and you alt-F4 otherwise its a good idea.

I think perk plane pilots should have to say "mother may I" before taking off or landing or they lose double the perk points.  They should have to say it on channel one.
