Man, people slag that album but would you believe that the first Yes album I ever heard was "Tales from Topographic Oceans" and the very first Yes album I purchased with was Tormato.

I love that album :)  and dont try and slag any Yes music.  I love it all :)

You started at the wrong end of the Yes spectrum if you like those recordings.

My fave is their debut..No pretensions and lots of Bruford in every song...Fragile is great too,I love to listen to that one when I build R/C planes...The Yes Album and Close to The Edge are also excellent prog rock...But that's as far as I'll admit to spending $ on LP's on Yes..:)

Yesshows is great too though only half of it has Bruford.

I was a Yes freak in highschool..Had the robe and Jesus staff etc..That was until I discovered RUSH.

too bad what'shisface had such a 'slight' voice or I'd have liked them much better...

As I recall, I discovered Tormato and Permanent Waves at about the same time.  Although Yes and its lineup has been simply spastic over the years I find I still enjoy listening to them as they progress into senility.

The latest Rush album "Vapor Trails" is the best theyve done in many years.

To listen to Yes without Andersons testicular depraved voice just listen to the Yes album "Drama" with Trevor Horn on lead mic (1980).  Really some of the best Yes Music going.  The Yes Keyboardist at that time was from Trevor Horns group "The Buggles" namely Geoff Downes.  He filled the music very nicely with prominant keys.

And the generation that said "Make War,not love" is responsible for selling Iraq poison gas,Iran/Contra swap to illegally arm a country,Grenada,Panama...And now "Operation Disarm..oops..I mean Operation Iraqi Freedom".

How's that for a legacy?

Hey Sirloin, the enemy of my enemy is my friend today, it may not be tomorrow, because **** happens ;)  Can I use Russia as a long term example? 1941-1945=Friend 1946-1989=Enemy 1989-??=Friend.  Maybe a simple example, an ex-girlfriend that you loathe when you run into her? ;)

I don't think you'll find too many that say we didn't f%#$k up with befriending Saddam or the Afghanistan freedom Fighters during the Soviet Invasion....we agree we did screw up. But you sometimes have to also FIX what you screw up.  Be accountable. We were, and we are. ;)
