the air war over Japan proper. In particular, I'd like to read some first-person accounts of B-29 raids and the attempts to intercept. I'm a little saturated with similar ETO stories; what was it like for the combatants in the Pacific? If anyone could point me to some URLs or good books on the subject, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks.

"Aces Against Japan" by Eric Hammel and "Carrier Warfare in the Pacific,' a Smithsonian publication, I think, are both good first-person accounts of air to air in the PTO. I've never come across anything from the buffers pov.
