The fact that he abandoned his old employer just as they were reaching the culmination of all of their hard work, just to work for a bigger, better deal should've been an indicator of his moral alignment.

Couldn't agree more...I never harbored any ill feelings against Mike Price except during the Apple Cup every year when he made statements to the press that were not very becoming or professional of a Head coach (but hey, thats the state rivalry and I'm a Husky Fan, we're SUPPOSE to hate Mike Price!) but I really despised him when he bailed out on his team right before their bowl game....probably because he knew they were going to get beat good...and probably due to greed.

heh, I just wish I had gone to the club that night. I coulda got his autograph, and then been interviewed by espn.com!

The scoop here abouts is that it was more like his 3rd chance. He'd already been warned about "inappropriate" behaviour before. Drinking with the students and all that.

So, is any employee that ever changes companies some immoral jerk that abandoned their employer?

Quit acting like the school is a victim. They signed him to a contract with a buyout clause and he exercised it. Nothing illegal or immoral about that. Given the quickness with which coaches -- even good ones that have positive winning percentages -- are fired these days, I can't blame any of them for seeking financial security through bigger, better deals.

Yes, if its a seasonal business. An immoral jerk would be a flower shop employee that quits the day before a big wedding. Or a band conductor that quits just before the orchestra's big fund-raising concert. Or an actor that quits a movie production before the filming is over.

The school wasn't the only victim. What about the players? The fans? The myriads of others with a stake in the team?
