“And with the Iraq war no longer looking like a winning political issue for Democrats in the 2004 presidential race, political analysts speculated Monday that Dean's popularity with the stars might boil down to a walk-on role.
"The war is over, and a lot of his early Hollywood support really did have to do with the war," said Sherry Besqueak Jeffe, political science expert at the University of Southern California.”

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That is to say the war went well, with minimal Coalition casualties.
Only in American politics can a political party wish for US deaths and a poor economy and get a free pass from the press. These people should be branded the socialist communist they are and never be allowed to hold office again.

Absolutely correct!  Who the heck do they think they are voicing an opinion in variance with the word of George. Where do they think they are, America?

All he is saying is that, given their proclivity to suppport the likes of Ho Chi Min and Saddam Hussein, we don't want liberal left-wingers, who'd sell their soul for a celebrity autograph and a pool party invite, having anythng to do with such vital issues as the national defense or homeland security.  And since their swan song is "It's the economy stupid" and this current economy is largely the result of Clinton's administration, and their solution to helping the economy is to gut the military, we don't want them to have anything to do with the economy either!

It ain't the deaths that take the time.  It's the 6 billion live people that keep him tied up.
As for killing the Chinese, I am against that as I am a BIG BIG fan of Kung Pao Beef and Potstickers and Hot and Sour soup!

WHAT!! ?
Syzy, at what point in Bush’s presidency, does he take responsibility for the economy?.. I mean come on.. he’s already submitted three budgets since entering office. If your going to blame the president from three years ago, you ought to at least provide some sort of evidence to back that up wouldn’t you say?.

and their solution to helping the economy is to gut the military

Where did you hear that?.. Being as it was Bush Daddy that made cut backs to the military in 1992. When Clinton took office, the Pentagon advised him they wanted a leaner meaner fighting machine, one capable of rushing to hot spots around the world. The days of large fleets of Abrams and large bulky artillery were over.

If you read more closely, you will note Junior has proposed cutting Veteran benefits by FIFTEEN BILLION DOLLARS!!.

On the other hand, if those weapons are not found, this could be a major issue for the Democrats. It’s the credibility stupid. If he lied about something this big, and 137 troops died because of his lie.. then this should be pounded home to American voters. As well as 2 million jobs lost, social services trashed.. and all the other things Bush doesn’t want to take responsibility for.

Only in American politics can a president who avoided his own military service don a flight suit to catch a ride to an aircraft carrier via a wasteful and uneccessary tailhook landing to deliver an un-victory speech and get a free pass from the press.  This president should be branded the transparently bogus, posturing fool he is and never be allowed to hold office again.

the liberals worst nightmare, a rising economy.
 carter=10% unemployed, bush=6% unemployed

at one time 6% unemployed was considered "full" employment

What did Mark Twain say? "There are lies, damned lies and statistics!"

The jobless rate in April, 2000 was 3.8%.  The jobless rate in April, 2003 was 6.0%.
