BTW, saw Triumph in '85' too, down in lakeland, Fl. It was a general admission show(was from the NE and was first GA show i'de been to) and Molly Hatchet backed them up. One of the best shows I ever saw.

Oh yeah, Metallica's drummer compares to neil peart

Both of those were followed by the rolleye.

Rush sounds queer because their lead vocals whines non-stop.

Yeah, that makes alot of sense, I can see why you are a metallica fan.

I'll second that, Udie.  Both bands are excellent from a musical standpoint.  Stylistically, you might not like one or the other, but both bands have mastered that style - from both a stylistic and a technical standpoint.

And I do like a lot of rush music, but I can't get past the vocals.  One day at work, my curiosity got the best of me, and I had to go to the Rush website to determine the gender of the lead singer.

Maybe if they did some instrumental stuff, I'd give it a shot.  Hell, they should get a cover band (apocalyptica-ish) to go to town on some Rush music.

I can see why you are a metallica fan.

Because I don't like queer vocals and lyrics.

Six, would you be surprised to hear that back in like '87 Geddy Lee called Metallica "one of his favorite bands" From a musicians stand point the stuff they did on Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets it genious.
coming from his favorate band own lips,,,sounds like rush likes metallica even more than the fans!! that gots to hurt a rush fan,,hehe

i like alot of bands,,ac/dc is one of my fav rock bands,,they still make good tunes still to this day,,same with zztop,,metalica,,megadeath,,slayer,,,but i dont go around telling everyone there bands suck,,and mine rule,,lol,,thats just cheesy,,i know a guy just like sixpeice,,all he talks about is the rolling stones!!,,nothing but rolling stones,,gets so old you wanna club him allmost,,but everyone is aloud there own opinion:)

rush talent wise is a great band,,but not so great that there fans should mock any othere bands

So will the "early metallica" fans give the new album a shot?

I'm a fan of both early and later stuff.  They're different, and I alternate between the two phases.  I listen to both... sometimes I'm in a more laid back late-Metallica mood, sometimes in a drive-fast, headbanging early-Metallica mood.

I've always found that music made late in a bands career seems commercial, maybe it's just me.

"even" S&M?

I think that's up there as one of their best.  Love it or hate it, I guess.

I like S&M, I'm saying "even"... because I've talked to "die hard" Metallica fans who think it's crap... mostly because it has a *gasp* symphony backing up their music.

What's Eddie Murphy got to do with Mr.T?

I pity da foo who thinks Mr.T's queer!
