Working nights to accelerate an equipment installation for a "we need it now" evaluation.

The tool is about the size of a small bedroom and has 5 different inert gases, 10 different hazardous gases, Natural Gas, 5 diffirent types of water all going to over 100 different points on the tool.

Just waded through 200 pages of test reports to find out they missed one gas line. I'm pretty pissed.

Just mix all those gases together ...

You get a bunch of semi inert, kinda dangerous, nearly natural gas. Problem solved.

That would be bad. The natural gas is really the least of my worries. Its burning in its own chamber and there's enough safeguards that its really not a problem. Besides... its just natural gas.

The SiH4 OTH, is pyrophic. Simple contact with air is a bad thing. Not quite as bad as the "nearly pyrophoric" gas though... the one that hangs in a ready to combust state enabling it to actually build up volume until it hits something... well... anything. Then there's that little issue of mixing O2 with H2 and making a rocket motor where you didn't really want one.

But those aren't really that worrisom. I can't recall a single icident with any of these simply because we are totally paranoid with them. I'm just pissed cause a deadline is going to slip.

Oh.. and I found out the ommission was not an accident this morning... there was a problem that they were hoping I wouldn't find out about. Fricking unions.

As a "Quality Professional" I'd have to say that this is common whether you have a union or not.

My favorite questions from the production dweebs goes like this... " Its just a small scratch.. in a place thats hard to see, can we let it go?"

So I ask em... "Show me in the standards how big the scratch should be?"

We have alot of sayings like that scratch story. Most of them can be found by reading Dilbert.
