my weight fluctuates, depending on a bunch of factors, like if I have time to work out regularly or not, if I am under stress (lots of eating, no desire to work out), and whether my sex life involves a partner or not.

Two years ago, at the age of 48, I was unhappy with my weight and conditioning. So, I went back to the gym (boxing), trained hard and managed to get down to an over-lean 175 lbs. Of course that took working up to 40 rounds of heavy bag work (that's two continuous hours, no breaks or rests permitted) three days a week, and a great deal of speed and double end bag work in between. Stuck to the bicycle instead of road work, these old knees don't enjoy the pounding. Did some limited sparring, but my gym is not very willing to have old farts like me taking punches, and the utter lack of other boxers even close to my age makes finding a partner very difficult. Probably for the best as my wife claims that I already have enough brain damage.... I can't remember why she thinks that though.....

I still hit the gym 2-3 times a week, and I'm holding at 181 lbs.

Typically, if one sits in front of a computer all day, one will gain weight and lose conditioning. Besides a good workout will improve one's alertness and consequently only serve to improve their game skills, IMHO.

Boxing is a great sport for conditioning and weight control. Just find a good gym and a trainer willing to work with someone who has no interest in competition. Moreover, like any martial art, the skills you develop may come in handy someday, although that's the last reason to go to a gym or take any course in martial arts.

Boxing is cool, did some in college. Although I could never quite get past getting hit repeatedly in the face..

I'm strange that way..

So I was a jabber, keep'um off me. I'm 6'5'' and have the reach. But once they got inside there was something about that left hook out of nowhere that made me take up body building.

Never took a left hook from a set of weights, and by the time I weighed 240 people pretty much left me alone. When they got antagonistic they'd say somethin like "Nice arms"

That worked, until like you, the old joints decided that I should wake up from the pain everytime I rolled over in bed..

Took 15 years for them to give up the ghost, I'm your age.

Now I drink cheap beer and pack a gun...

LOL

45 minutes of biking a day is what everyone should strive to achieve.

Biking and swimming is best for losing weight but mostly it's eating less.
I have put on weight though. I now weigh about 11 and a half stone (160 pounds). I have a bigger stomach but I can still do a 31 inch waist and fit in my old army uniform issued to me when I was 21. Not bad at all?

Everyone should strive to gain at least  40 lbs per year while flying this game!

The more mass you have ....  the more force you deliver as you kareen down with a missing wing into an enemy hangar!

Remember Force = Mass   x   Accelleration!!!!!!!!!!

HEHE!!

I do my exercises every day, right eyebrow then the left if they work ok then I get on the PC and wiggle my toes around for a bit.
This I think helped me to put on 30 + lbs in the last year tho not all of that time was spent in AH, could I call that 30lbs relaxed muscle ?? ok it was worth a try

nope, I've stayed pretty much the same while playing AH.  I stabilized with my low exercise life a couple of years ago.

times are a changing though.  I'm playing tennis tonight.  If you don't see me around the next few days, it's because I'm in the hospital recovering.  ;)
