Well, i've done it (newbie)

Just created a 2 week trial account under the handle "Skalski"

I flew yesterday for some time during the evening, and I must say I am thrilled!

Seeing old friend and foes from Warbirds made it even sweeter - even met hblair of JG77 in his 109 on my first mission, as well as firends from the wing my Warbirds squadron belongs to!

I like the feel of the planes in the air, I like how they handle on the ground when taxing, and I love my spits paint scheme.

I missed the "bounce" factor when ladning - it seems planes just stay glued to the runway after touchdown no matter at what rate you touch down.  Still, fun fun fun!

Combat works great, just like in Warbirds.  Guns have a little more punch, but I can hardly judge what is more realistic - WB, or AH.

I can honestly say I am hooked.  THE MAIN THINGS I AM LOOKING FOR NOW ARE:  HISTORICAL TERRAINS (MED, ETO, PTO) WITH MORE TARGETS BETWEEN AIRFIELDS (PORTS, FACTORIES, TOWNS...ETC..), AND MORE EARLY/MID WAR PLANES.

Looking forward to some great times during this two week trial, and hopefully some more after that.

Cheers!

I can bounce a plane hard enough on the runway to take the wheels off.

Just come in fast enough.

Can't wait for prop drag.

rfa,

Glad to see ya and glad you like what ya see so far.  Version 1.03 will bring ground effect and prop drag, so you should see some differances on landing then.  As far as the other things, a terrain editor that we will all have access to will be available soon after 1.03 hits, it's in beta now.

Vadr has been doing some flying in AH and was going to email HT about historical events, CM tools etc, so hopefully those things will be showing up soon.  In the mean time, get used to the planes and have some fun.  If you would like a walking tour of AH (just to show you real quick the differances and some of the new things to save ya time) drop me a email me and we'll go into the TA for a check ride so to speak.

rfa (skalski),

Remember not to hold the brake on when you land and I'll bet you bounce.

Welcome!

Thanks for the welcome guys!

Vadr, Scenarios will sure by fun.

Also, I figured out whats going on with no bounces on landing. I always try to do a 3 point landing, stalling her onto the runway from a foot or two, and landing while using very little runway.  It seems I never bounce this way, but when I try a a higher speed landing and don't bother with a 3 pointer, I bounce.  Anyways, just a little observation.

Cya up there!

Was nice to see you last night rfa. I miss some of the old fellas from WB's. Nice to see them drop in occasionally. Glad to see you have good first impressions of the game. I'm sure the upcoming version will really impress you as well as the rest of us.

Also, glad to have yet another worthy adversary in any upcoming scenario.
