One of the only things missing IMO from the game as it stands is the lack of sun glare.  You cannot use the sun to conceal yourself and attack like was possible in real life with the current art for the sun and it's effects.  Some kind of substantial wash out when looking at the sun would really add to the realism of AH2 I think, making not just how you fight the fight, but how you set yourself up for it, all the more important...

absolutely agree here. In almost all the battle of britain stories from the pilots they mention they either used  the sun or the enemy used it on them. It was a huge weapon in a pilots arsenal throughout the conflict and so i think its a real shame it cant be used in AH to add to your chances of success.

Posted a year ago...but not yet implemented.  Is it possible to just turn up the sun glare, in the same way flak accuracy can be adjusted?

I'd like to see greater sun glare, too.  But a word of caution:  for a very short while in WarBirds they turned the sun glare up to realistic levels and many people screamed so loudly they turned it back down.

Neverless, I'd like to vote twice for greater sun glare.

lol Vorticon I think you missed what I was getting at.... I'm not talking about something that is so bright that it hurts, just graphical effects that simulate what happens when you look into the sun... i.e. you can't see anything that is in line w/ the sun or in the direct area of it.  The way it is now you only lose contact with a plane if it flies directly into the sun, and even then you can still see it fairly well.  Is this anywhere near realistic? No.  What I'm trying to get it is something to make the sun a tool in aerial combat, as it was in real life, not just a yellow ball in the sky that moves around and when it goes down people squeak for a hour :)

Funny, I thought we already had that!  I know I often see planes almost disappear when the sun is behind them and I am looking up at them from my Osty!  :)

Do you guys remember the first time you played doom?  Lights out, in a quiet room, then you get to that part where the light start going dim and then out, all you can hear is the breathing of the bad guys.....                      eeek!

Guys flying in AH dont want that doom feeling.  I would be so paranoid of the sun I would change my name to yossarian.

I don't think that it is about the feeling that you can't see your enemy.
The point is realism. You position from the sun is alomst have the same inportance as your energy. Who has the sun on his back have the best position. When you attack ground target it helps you to AAA can't hit you exectly. The point is reality. Make the fight closer to the fight in WW2.
