A rare photo of the troop trials of the German PKS (schlafen)Mk 1c (concrete) armored three man tent. This was intended to reduce the number of deaths and injuries "behind the line". The problem was that it was cast over the three men, so as to provide better protection from small arms fire and shell fragments. It was reported that there were issues of getting back out.

The term "Siegfried Line" is not a german one but came from the Western Allies. In german the defenses of western Germany were called "Westwall" and those tank obstacles were called "Drachenzähne" (Dragon´s Teeth).
