One that I've seen on these boards MANY times is "hanger". I've even seen a guy use it wrong in his homepage address:
A building you put your plane in is called a hangAr.
On a hangEr you only put your coat.

When you second someones statement, by shouting "here, here", it should be "hear, hear".

I really think it's an advantage having english only as second language in such cases. One can just make the sentence in his own language, where the two, in english, similar sounding words often are completely different.
