Pyro, will you be looking into flaps too?
The 38 fowlers should not blow up by themselves; they did have locks to prevent them deploying flaps past a certain speed (which is correctly modelled in 38L in AH), but they did not autoretract. The 38 suffered heavy buffeting and high risk of structural damage if the flaps were out past 300mph, and they jammed or suffered structural failure past that speed. Please make the flaps jam or rip out if they are out past 300mph and dont make them autoretract.
And the dive flaps had 2 effects:
1) if deployed under 300mph/before a dive, the dive flaps prevented the nose "tuck under" effect and let the pilot pull the nose up (albeit sloowly)... this the AH dive flaps does ok now.
2) If deployed after the dive, aka, past 300mph, the dive flaps created a nose up pull of 3g's. 38 test pilots even commented the 38 would do a "neat loop" all by itself if the deployed the dive flaps and let their hands go off the wheel.
And finally, the 38's nose guns should fire all 4 .50 cals at the press of the button. Currently you tap the fire key and 1 50 cal fires, they should fire all 4 at once (that, coupled with the current damage model, seriously hampers the 38's nose gun firepower punch, since the guns fire 1 by one, albeit microseconds apart, a shot at a moving target while you are moving, or even a snapshot, makes the 4 .50 cal rounds not hit the same nose-gun space but rather disperse them in a quasi straight line, making the 4 .50 cals of the 38 be less effective than the 51b's wing .50 cals).
I HAVE RANTED!
