Natalie of the Dixie Chicks - Giving Blondes a bad name
« on: May 21, 2003, 10:13:03 PM »
Anyone catch the Country awards tonight?

Dixie Chicks performed via satellite, Natalie was wearing a shirt with FUTK in big letters.  A stupid shot at Toby Keith, who took exception to the little fat ones comment in England about Bush.

Too funny then when Vince Gill announced them as a nominee for Entertainer of the Year (I think),  the audience all booed.  Then, Toby Keith won the award!

That whooshing sound may have been a career going down the drain.

Apparently.

It seems to bother a lot of people that it works both ways. Folks get to state their opinion. Then other folks get to state counter opinions.

Funny how the reply part really seems to bother some folks. Seems like they think "free speech" means someone gets to voice an opinion and everyone else has to either agree or zip their lips.

Never was meant to be that way. And it never was that way. And it's still not that way.

....then normal people will realize that and evaluate their counter-argument in that light.

Unless it crosses the line into slander and then both parties can buy new BMW's for lawyers.  ;)

Heh.

It can't be a bad life being a libel lawyer. In retirement, you might look back at what you achieved and decide 'not very much'. But I'm sure that thought dissipates as you take another sip from the champagne just handed to you by a Brazillian super-model lookalike, on board your yacht moored in Monte Carlo harbour. :D
