Will TOD be a rolling planeset such that we will start with only early war AC?  This would allow the modelers time to flesh out the later set but they would have to add a few planes for the early war.  The only early war AC the Russkis have is, well, none.  Ditto for the Itais; oh, and the Brits would need a Wellington, the US the B-25, etc.

Will we ever see the PBY or Sunderland and Ju52 and Cant Herone (Heinkel 115 anyone?) patrolling the early skies of the TOD Med theatre?  I mean, fighting G10s in P-40Bs or P-51s in A6M2s going to be really angerficating.  Stukas against Glosters aint bad, against P-47ds, La7s and Typhoons it would be somewhat ridiculous.

How bout it?  Rolling Planeset?

I don't think you understand what ToD is.

Maybe not, but this is what it should be.

Each time you fly, it will be in a prescripted mission.  All planes for both sides will be chosen by the whatever HT uses to generate the missions.  Its not going to be a free-for-all pick any plane and launch type of thing.

A rolling plane set is just not necessary.

I hope it's not going to be like that.  At least let us choose what plane we want to fly and then accept a mission.

Not in the ToD. The airforce isn't exactly like a mercenary force ;)

 ...

According to what we've seen, the ToD HTC has envisioned is an online campaign mode comparable to those in boxed games, or one of those Coop missions in IL2/FB - except unlike boxed games, almost all participants are human players, and unlike IL2/FB Coop, it isn't a single event - a systematically organized flow of events and missions based on real historical time-line.

Plus, an RPG aspect which simulates and rewards player experience and leadership in the form of progression of rank, and simulating the military aspect with an internal chain of command. Maybe some other RPG style goodies for immersive experience.. etc etc.

 ..

So, it's gonna be the other way around

Choose what mission you want to fly, and that will decide what plane you can use. A ground attack or interdiction in 1943, and you'll get to join either a mission with P-38s, or another mission using P-47s..

im guessing it will be similar to the current mission planner where you will be able to choose your plane/flight you want

Well, the historical feel of the game would be ruined by what you are suggesting.  I mean, you already have the MA for Spitfire vs La7 stupidity ad nauseum.
