The test aircraft also has an auxiliary fuel tank, which the D9 didn't have (at least ours don't :).

Seems like the test aircraft was a "mix and match" of various Fw model parts. A lot of that going on late in the war.

1944 Doras had the aux tank for fuel in place of theMW50 while 1945 Doras had the MW50 installed.

Early Doras did not have the bulged hood from the 190Fs installed. Only from the turn of the year onwards did they get them.(unless retro fitted)

Could the a/c be the V-63, -64, or -65 (W.Nr 350 165, 6, 7) since it seems to be a mix-max?

Well, well, someone finally knows where the name comes from.:D S!

Have about 1/2 dozen but never went all out to get them all. Enjoy what I have and re-read them occasionally.

I wunder sometimes if the idea for "Jurrasic Park" came from the 'Horseclans' books. You remember where all the 'big' animals and the cats came from?

ps. I bet you are from Wyoming with a nick like yours?

Sorry for the sidetrack, but I am a HUGE fan of the Horseclans novels and the other books by Robert Adams. :)

What happened to him? Did he die? He was very prolific up until the late 80's / early 90's then I didn't see anything since.

I tried to look around the internet for information about him, and his novels, but came up blank.

Thanks Milo, I figured as much :(

I always wondered why they didn't do any reprints of his work.  I have the entire Horseclan series in paperback (well worn at this point) and the Castaways in time series as well.  Plus a few of the others odds and ends. He is still one of my top 3 favorite authors.

Too bad, I loved his work.
