strange how the usually beautiful lines of the spit are disturbed by LW's blunt style of markings.

It performed about the same. A DB605A and its Merlin counterpart of the time had simmilar power.

Anyway pre-griffon spits are so ugly as it is nothing can help, not even attractive LW markings or tasteful cosmetic alterations.
