Y I need a KI 84

 I fly alone. Gang bangs are a full time thing. If they all flew the same plane I could deal with it better. They dont. I need an all purpose fighter. I need speed AND the ability to TnB if im surrounded. I need the high ROF so the guy I just hosed dont turn around, smokeing and do me in.
 Pleeeze.

 Hey. Just slap some butterflys on the 205. crank up the guns. Paint some yellow on the wing edge. And im good to go.

the ki-84 on paper was a great plane, but it had one huge flaw: its corner velocity was substantially lower than every other plane, to the tune of 30+ mph!  armed with this knowledge, a properly managed plane could actually out-turn the ki-84 in the short term.  while it would certainly be useful defensively against one plane if you're willing to stall-fight, but against a 'gangbang' i'd want any other fast plane out there.

Pyro really spoiled me on the KI84 he designed for WB's!! The Niki is nice but its just not a Ki! Hey enough people got on the Yak bandwagon and they got one so maybe.....

The thing easymo's forgetting is that, once the Ki-84 is introduced, most of the guys gangbanging him will be flying it too.

i woundn't underestimate the ki-84 so easily...

the corner velocity...who cares.. its not like a good stick is gonna be yanking it around normally...

your gonna be using that light airframe in the vertical, throwing in its "great"(crappy by IJN standards) turning ability aided by the butterfly flaps to get its nose hauled around fast during your vert-reversals....

you dont kill in the 84 by turning, you use its amazing accelleration/climbrate to e-fight with the best of them...

what is cant outrun, it can outturn, and vice-versa... and those twin HO-5s HURT!

JP Army Fighter:
Ki-43
Ki-44
Ki-45
Ki-61
Ki-84
Ki-100 etc...

JP Army Bomber:
Ki-67 etc...

hmm, Why do I need these planes? cause I established New Japanese Plane Squadron in AH!  

Its Name is Dai 64 Sentai "Shinten Seikuutai"

Pls memorize this Squadron Name.
