My newest aviation art (and a contest!)
« on: May 29, 2003, 12:23:46 AM »
Well, I have decided to go for it  (my own aviation art business).  I have lots of information and a few good ideas on the business end of things.  Now it's time to draw!

I haven't put anything on canvas in 4 years, and am very rusty.  But the decision has been made, and best of all I have my wife's support.  I've also decided to get into WW2 related work as well as my fast jets.  This picture will serve as a 'warm up', and I will probably do a total of 3 in black-and-white before I switch back to color.

So the scenario is: Late war over the skies of Europe.  Through a stroke of fate 2 master fighter pilots have found themselves together on pretty even beginning terms.  What 2 aircraft shall it be?

I would like to hear your suggestions, and I will pick one winning suggestion and draw it out to the best of my ability.  For the winner I will give (well I can't promise a print of the finished work since I don't have that worked out yet).  But for the suggestion that sounds the best I will give a digital photo of the finished work at the resolution of your choice.

An FW attacking a  straggeling B-24 , with number 2 feathered trying to make it back home.  With oncoming P47s in the background coming to the Liberators rescue.

That oughta keep ya busy for awhile

A Spit dweeb and a N1K2 dweeb both going for a HO, and then crashing into each other.

 That'll help purify my soul.

or WWI 56 Squadron Vs. Voss

P47 vs FW190, If you want to add depth put a b17 formation in the distance with flak hits around em.

Glad to see your going to give it a shot.

109 defending his homeland from attacking b17's (little dots in background - many of them) against impossible odds as he is outnumbered by P51D's of superior numbers.

the scene would be a close up of the 109/P51 conflict ( maybe the 51 following the 109 up in a zoom) with other 51's (much smaller) in the foreground showing they out number the vailant defenders. Waves B17's (formation dots)  in background.

gl with your project and biz venture
