did Bf-109 F-4 enter service during the Battle of Brittain or after the Battle of Brittain?

109F-0 10 for evaluation in July 1940

109F-1 First production operational service Jan 1941

109F-2 15mm cannon Jan 1942

Was therefore operational after BoB but was the main fighter during Barbarossa - Invasion of Russia in 1941.

F4 was in combat by oct. 1941 with the 20mm

after.

remembber the Germans had no drop tanks for their 109s in BOB.

109F4s were used in North Africa also.(1941/42)

BOB was fairly short too. only lasted one summer really.

the F4 is my favourite 109 version, but we need some early war scenarios for it...
