Eeeek...we don't have liftoff anymore....
« on: August 04, 2000, 12:02:00 PM »
somehow my MS explorer (5.0) got hosed...now things have spread to AH...RW no longer kicks off on "start-up"...using <esc> key to toggle clipboard dumps me to desktop AND triggers "start" menu (same as clicking on start). In addition, </> still triggers text buffer but I cant type anything...keyboard still works fine for other inputs. Framerate still showing 35-45 BUT seems jerky and lag is significantly worse. I think I'm gonna end up F-disking and reloading but thought I'd ask if anyone has had a similiar set of issues. Sorry if this is posted in wrong place.

In Order :

Reinstall DX7

If not solved

Reinstall Win 98

If not solved

Copy workfiles on another drive
Create Win 98 Bootdisk

Boot on the floppy
FORMAT C: /s

E:\win98\setup.exe (where E: is your CD ROM drive)

enjoy

And I take it you've run a scan for viruses using an updated agent?

Happened to me once; a virus that infected all my exe file, including the one to my antivirus program. Had to go to dos and use a special program to get rid of it.
