The challenge...
« on: June 03, 2003, 08:30:31 AM »
Can't recall who made this challenge but..  someone said that I should fly every plane in the set till I land a kill in it for a tour.

I started yesterday.  I will fly every single seat fighter till I get a kill and land it (or ditch).

Alphabetical order... so far I have gotten to fly easy planes to get kills in... Zekes and the 109 series.. the 109s are as big of assist kings as my FM2 or a 51b but easy to fly well.

Good part is... I am getting all the views done as I go.

Really?

I've been doing the "land two kills in every plane" thing.......ie get a swoop landed x in x mssg in the text buffer for each plane.   I'm up to the 190s.......

I heard Citabria did a "get 5 kills in every plane" thing a while back.

:D  Step up a gear Lazs.

I'm working on 'get killed 5 times by every aircraft type'.

Finished.

I pretty much am getting 2 kills in em but the challenge said 1... I don't think I could stomach some of the planes long enough to get even 2 kills much less 5.

Plus... I'm not as patient as citabria or as good as you.

You are going to spend a lot of time in that C-47.

:D

Don't be daft, all I've got going for me is a little bit of patience and a good eye for the gunnery, I'm awful in a furball.

But I'll agree.....couldn't get out of that damn 202 fast enough and I'm not looking forward to the AR234 either ;).

because then I would get stuck in the boring LW rides for longer than I like... I can stomach the one sortie, get a kill or two, and return to base but that's about it.

how about killing one of every a/c type? that would be more fun! only ones i missed out on last tour were:-

C.202
Bf 110C-4b
Bf 109E-4
Spitfire Mk XIV

why you doing that, Lazs?  It doesn't sound like you're having that much fun doing it.  I know I have absolutely no desire to strap on a Fw190 (any variant) in the MA, and I hate it when the 332nd draws 190 duty in Squad Ops.   I don't fly that much, so I don't want to spend time in planes I don't enjoy.

yet, if it's fun for you, go for it.  :)

I keep trying to do that. The nearest I've gotten is everything apart from the F4U-4, tour 33. That was before the Ju87, Kate etc patch though.

I also like seeing how long I can go without getting shot down in a particular type. I think I've managed 50+ in the 190D (twice), Typh, Spit IX, Seafire, La5 and F4U-C so far. The 50 mark seem to be some sort of physical barrier for me, I've never got to 60 yet :) Next on the list to try and do it in are the IL2 and maybe the 109G-2.
