Merkava vs. Abrams
« on: June 04, 2003, 07:23:35 AM »
I was doing some reading on this subject when I bumped into this jewel
Quote
When I was serving in the gulf,my m1 tank crew drifted to far and we ended up in isreal.
A merkava took us for an attacking t-72 and fired on us twice, both missing.
We then had to knock him out with an APFSDS.
One round did the job, luckily the incident was never mentioned by my crew as we got back on course and know one even knew we missing.

Wonderful piece ;)

The whole thing can be found here

So this one tank drove thru Syria, Lebanon, Jordan or Egypt to meet his foe in Israel?
Or was that Merkava having a holiday in the sun in one of those countries which, btw, happen to be pretty hostile against IDF tanks?
