We have two P-47s.

How different are they?

I think the -25 turns a little better.  The -30 is silver and flies like a tank.  (It is a little better for JABO though.)

I have no idea, I fly P47-D30.

D25 is said to turn better...maybe... I don't fly it. the D30 has dive flaps, that I rarely use anyway.
D30 supposed to have 300 more HP when using Wep, I don't think it's implemented in AH.

Big diff is the paint job, it may looks silly but the D30 is easier to see because it's silver. When fighting, it's always easy to know where it's going. The D25 is dark green and "melt" with the ground color, making it hard to see where it's going or how it's moving, especially at night.

I prefer the gunsight of the D30 better too, but I suck at shooting moving stuff.
Dat jugs bro.

Of course for this conspiracy theory to work you'd have to exlude the present work load on HTC, availability of data, etc (because of the well known "squeak" factor)

Well, as opposed to Frenchy, I fly (Or try to fly) the P47-D25. I find it less sluggish and easier to flip. haven't noticed that uch difference in Horsepower, but the D30 seems a more stable gunplatform.

I fly both.  The only difference I can tell is the -30 has dive flaps and can carry more rockets.  They fly the same.

The D-30 has a fin added to to the rear fuselage, improving some of the directional stability that was lost when changing from the razorback to the bubbletop and also should have 300hp more when using WEP.
(Same mistake was made with the WB D-30)

can somebody explain why a D-25 would have some type of turn advantage over a D-30. if it had any advantage wouldnt it be so slight as not to even be noticable?

I cant find my books , but I would have to agree with what somebody else said. D-30s were probably the type that introduced dive recovery flaps and the fin fillet for the rear stabilizer. also didnt the D-25 also have the 2,595/2,600hp engine? I thought it did.

The D-25 and D-30 both used the P&W-R2800-59, difference being that the D-30 had a max manifold pressure increased to 62" over 58".
If anything, the D-30 should turn better, due to more stability (Easier to hold near the stall) and more HP (with WEP)

hi all:

I dont know the differance between the two P47's, but as far as Frenchy's statement that he sucks when shooting. does not seem that way when he is behind me.

Mav, they both are bubble canopies.

Maybe you mean "AH needs a razorback Jug."
