hay I got one kill so far and almost saved drex once...

Our computers are at opposite ends of the table so our super secret coordination comm traffic usually goes like:

"HEY DREX 6!"

"HEY DREX I"M SNEEKING UP ON... OH NEVER MIND"

"HEY DREX DO YOU HAVE ANY AMMO LEFT?"
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

Drex is better qualified to comment on how valuable a wingman I was...  One thing I noticed is that our styles complemented each other and I guess it worked out pretty well.  Drex is a very offensively minded player and I play more defensively, but we both see/visualize/understand the same ACM picture so we didn't make many gross errors as a team.

edit:

No offense taken Lazs.  Drex IS very good and my ego doesn't need stroking to realize that he's the stronger part of our team.  As far as if I suck or not, ask the guys who were actually trying to shoot me down how crummy I was  :)

Not bragging, but for info only - In the entire tournament, Drex and I were only shot down once each, and that occurred during the fight we lost...  Sure wish I'd turned on the film recorder

The reasons that make Eagl a fantastic wingman are his real world knowledge of tactics.  It's always nice to have a F15 strike eagle pilot as your partner.  Eagl and I never practice.  In fact, Eagl hasn't flown AH in about 6 months.  What he does to complement my flying style is to engineer our tactics off my lead in real time.  We don't discuss what we will be doing for a merge.  I go in and depending upon their seperation from each other, sets himself to counter it.  When I merge and select my target eagl selects the other without communication from me.  He isolates the bandit while I work on mine. He sees the whole picture of the engagement.Eagl would  switch to my old target just by veiwing my geometry in the fight.  He knew that I was going to switch targets before it would be obvious to any other wingman I could have had.  That is something that I could never do.  Then there is his defensive flying ability which I can't say enough about.  They man is just hard to bring down.  Salute Eagl for being a damn fine wingman back to back.
