That movie was filmed about 10 minutes away from my home - we had "Mel Gibson Sightings" on the news for weeks here.  ;)

I liked it alot - felt the mood was captured very well.  If Alfred Hitchcock were alive today, this is the movie he would have made.

There are alot of subtle things that I missed the first time I watched it - the second time I caught on to alot of bits and pieces that made the movie even more interesting.

What a stupid movie.  These ET's can travel a billion miles through space and all it takes to wipe em out is a Louisville slugger and a glass of tap water?  STUPID!

I liked it. Very atmospheric I thought.

When they discovered that they were using the 'signs' as navigation aids I simply thought "cut the fields, then they'd be lost!!" ;)

I thought it was lame and boring as suspense and even worse as an inane statement on spirituality.  The scene that stuck with me most was the one in the beginning with the local cop; how such a lethargic and pointless couple of minutes could have been committed to the final cut is beyond me - at the same time it's a good representation of the entirety of the movie itself.

Somebody forgot to tell the filmmakers that there's water in the air.  But that's only a "minor" detail in comparison to the huge contrivance that is the plot itself.

Water

The thing that blew it for me was the water thing.  Why would any race, superintelligent enough to routinely operate in space, try to invade a world that has so much water on it, in it and around it.  What is the world, 90% water?

Sheesh, stupid aliens.

They deserved to get kilt!

But I did like M. Night's other two moveis, Unbreakable and Sixth Sense.  Maybe he should stay away from aliens!

LOL, I forgot about that part.  I was watching it with my girlfreind and I told her, "Gee, I guess they forgot to pack their ray guns."
