Russian, you're Honor Guard?  Were you holding one of the flags or just one of the rifles?

I feel bad for the guys here (RAF Lakenheath) who have to do it, because they have to hold it out there through both the British and US National Anthems.

And, just to stay somewhat on topic, there's no damn sun in this country.

Hehe...was waiting for someone from the Sunshine State to say something like this.

I am a local, but I work in an office.  My face, arms and legs are very tanned, mostly from riding a moped/scooter to work every day.

The rest of my body tends to stay very tourist like until early June, which is about the time I start to take the kids swimming on a daily basis, after work, and on weekends.  This past weekend was the first really hot sunny one, so as a result of not putting on some sort of protection I got fried.  The big difference between me and a lilly white tourist is that my burn fades to tan very quickly while theirs peels of in strips.

We used to have a good chuckle at the pink whales on the beaches.  I've seen some pretty bad cases of sunstroke result from people who fall asleep.

Some will fall in love with life and drink it from a fountain that is pouring like an avalanche coming down the mountain

About this time every year I like to go to Busch Gardens or Sea World and watch the 2-tone tourists walking around - red on front, red on back, pastey white on the sides. :)

I did a volleyball tournament last Saturday, got another one this Saturday, and another one the Saturday after that.  By the end of the month, I'll really be feeling the kiss of the sun.
