Remember seeing him in 'To kill a mockingbird', an impressive movie and one impressive actor. And not only on screen, although most of you probably won't take kindly to his political opinions :D , he was a very social, active and involved person.

And the guns of Navarone of course :)

S!

Another classic actor leaves us ... without anyone out there to replace them

CNN did about 10 seconds on him and 10 minutes on Brinkley - figures

Thanks Eagler.

I have been to more than one management training seminars that used Peck's performance in 12 O'clock High as an example of using the appropriat management style for the appropriate occasion.

Excellent Movie.

One of my all time favorites, Gregory Peck.

I think of all his movies, I liked "The Big Country" the most, or, at least a tie with "12 O'Clock High".

I agree with Apache. Those were definitly his best performances. To Kill A Mockingbird was a huge social statement, so it garnered more press. Eagler, don't go ragging on CNN because David Brinkley got more airtime. In the Grand Scheme of things, he accomplished more with his life.

In the grand scheme of things Brinkley accomplished more with his life? I love the omnipotence of the general public. :D

lol... even Peck said TKaM was the greatest role of his life. It is a classic novel turned into an equally classic movie.

One of my favourite actors. "The Boys from Brazil" is a truly chilling "what if".
