Pictures from my flight on the B17G "Yankee Lady"
« on: June 13, 2003, 09:25:47 PM »
Hello all,

I thought some of you might like to see some pictures (video to come soon) from my 30minute flight experience aboard the B17G bomber "Yankee Lady" when it was at my local museum in Farmindale New York (republic airfield)

She's a beautiful bird.  Once or twice, I've had the good fortune of seeing her fly over my house, presumably on her way to the Detroit waterfront.

Some pics of the last time I saw her:

Worth the money?  $400 bucks is quite a chunk to shell out.

Worth EVERY penny, I would have paid more. In fact I paid for my friend because I needed someone to video tape it.

I recomend anyone who has a chance to do it, who knows how long these birds will be around for. No amount of pictures and video do it justice.

There will be a b24 visiting in August, I'm hoping they will have flights on that (even though I'm not such a big fan of the 24 compared to the 17)

Do you have a location and dates?  Is that the Collings Foundation tour?

Seeing her flying low at the end of a long day at our R/C flying field (Rouge Park), hearing those majestic radials, she can really move you.
