Fishu, 99% of Chechens will welcome ANY force to stop "the rule of a gun" there. They are tired enough of criminal "republic" that was formed there since 1991.

On a referendum 96% of them voted for their new constitution. Russian laws are much better for them then Sharia and bonehead Vahhabism (Saudi version of Islam), brought there by their "freedom fighters".

As for the US force - I doubt they will welcome them. Remember that story about "freedom fighters" celebrating 09-11 in their secret camp in the mountains? They were so happy that they started shooting into the air at night, singing and dancing. Russian howitzers made several salvos at the place where muzzle flazhes and tracers came from, killing several dozens of "rebels"...

BTW, I have told many times that IMHO thinking that USSR was an "evil empire" is very untrue.

Tell that to the Finnish working class starting from 1939
Only the evil kind would've wanted to liberate them from something that didn't exist.

Fishu, again: if Stalin wanted to occupy Finland - there was nothing that Finns could do about it.

I discussed it with you many times, and you know my opinion.

And please don't mix propaganda rhethorics with real intentions and politics.

Well, his original plan was bit different, now wasn't it?

Kind of funny way to make right for the initial attack in first place by saying "if Stalin wanted to occupy Finland - there was nothing that Finns could do about it".

They attacked, with the propaganda saying 'to liberate finnish working class', so it is irrelevant what was done 5 years afterwards.
This nice big empire with the sunny father, had it not been evil, wouldn't have attacked Finland in first place.

if the cost can be made high enough the fact that you could have occupied was probable. if us jumped on you you couldent have held. germans europe and americans would have crushed ya. stalin made the correct move. somtimes the bear  just can't beat the coon. texas came about in a similar fashion. when you realize you will have to kill each man woman and child in a country to hold it what have you won. they all have relatives.

p.s. we had nukes. you hadent stolen them yet.

Just how inept is Bush?

OBL, SH, or WMD...he can't find them.

But I'll bet he manages to trot them out just in time for the 04 elections.

Bush knew there were no WMD before he got 170 Americans killed

I find it hilarious that in your defense of Spurious George your reduced to sarcasm and attempting to put words in my mouth.

My life experience has taught me that those who know very little of what they speak of, feel the need to tell everyone about it often.

Sorry, I'm content with just reading knowing that I'm right and most of you are kidding yourselves:)

Before this gets started again:

You'll notice the guy they arrested for having an AK was out after curfew.  There is a policy in Baghdad and the rest of the country that the people can keep one weapon (I would assume most have AK's) in their house.  They can't take them out on the street however.

So, even in an occupied country, the people have the right to be able to protect themselves.

So ttthhbbbttt  :p

Yup this is true.

I just thought it was a bit funny that even for personal weapons, despite all these raids and searches they haven't been able to turn up anything wrong there either. There's gotta be more than a few people pulling their hair out over there. :)

The only thing missing is seeing an advertisement for a Geraldo Riverra prime-time television special regarding the discovery of a hidden vault....

...wasn't really intended to make a serious statement or anything.
