We dont hear much about them these days as the Italian authorities quickly disbanded the unit when they found out the soldiers were automatically steering theit parachutes to drop right into allied POW camps.

It is,Beretta Modello 38A.

I beleave they are Marines, and those are reversable ammo vest's they have more clips on the back side. The small pouches near the bottom are for Grenads I beleave.

Helmets look like those of para. Maybe Nembo or Arditi in late war would depend on your source of the picture.

edit: Guess I'm wrong noticed they seem to have the start of the collar of the San Marco uniform so I guess I am wrong.
