A man's rig? I thought you said in that other thread that H2's are crap?

Sorry MiniT, told you I sold the love rocket taurus to the black dude at work. Bastard changed the stock Taurus hubcaps I had to scrounge out of the junk yard with some hoopty fake chrome ones.

I still think H2's are crap.  I told Acid "Nice color" and I said it looks like a Man's rig. Their quality control is still questionable. I wouldn't buy one.  I'd go F350 with a V10 personally. :)

If anyone has any links to quality control articles concerning this truck I'd appreciate it. I'd like to know what to look for and possibly do something about it before there is a problem.
I've been unable to find any so far while searching the web. Maybe I'm searching on the wrong keywords.
Maybe I can have the dealership take care of it as a warranty item.

So far I've only found a link where Nikko's scale 1/16 radio control H2 has issues.

All I've really heard about the H2 is that the steering wheel actuator has a problem with the pinned elevator nylon insert sleve being too small.

What year is your H2?

You can check for recalls here:
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls/recallsearch.cfm

Will try to find that quality control issues article, its been about 8 months since I've seen it...

http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2003-05-06-quality_x.htm

Among individual brands, General Motors' popular Hummer scored dead last in J.D. Power and Associates' 2003 Initial Quality Survey. Buyers of the giant sport-utility vehicle apparently were surprised by its gas-guzzling ways.

Among brands, GM's Cadillac and Buick finished in the top five. But Hummer, the hot-selling big SUV inspired by the military Humvee and built off the Chevrolet Tahoe platform, scored 225 problems per 100 vehicles.

Corporate quality rankings...Toyota is #1, Porsche is #2, BMW is #3...

Yeah the gas milege is laughable, what *were* they thinking? But 225 problems per 100 vehicles...ruh roh....

I'm sure they've worked most of the quality control problems out by now..its always good to buy a late-season vehicle...never buy a vehicle in the first year of new inception is a good rule too.

The 2 recalls listed happened before mine was even built. 225 per 100 is counting the recall so not counting the recalls it's around 25 per 100. I also found a page with some "common problems" but they too seem outdated.

Yep, like I said, those problems show up early in any given year of production.  My 330 had a problem with cooling fans in the engine igniting and flaming the car! They swapped out the Siemens fans for Bosche fans about 1/2 thru the production cycle to fix the problem. ;)
