Funny, you and I both scored "Centrist" on that political test Weazel...difference is, I supported our countries decisions during a time of war, you're somewhat of a deserter in a mental sort of way..for political reasons only  (For the record, I was behind our commander in chief during Bosnia too...but just for the decision part of going in, it was the right thing to do as was Iraq, IMO)

I feel the government has deserted our country.

The average American is not being served by the government.....and that's not the way it's supposed to be.

I haven't deserted my country mentally or physically, if I had I wouldn't care about what goes on in Washington.

Patriotism means to stand by the country.

It does not mean to stand by the president or any other public official, save exactly to the degree in which he himself stands by the country.

It is patriotic to support him insofar as he efficiently serves the country.

It is unpatriotic not to oppose him to the exact extent that by inefficiency or otherwise he fails in his duty to stand by the country.

In either event, it is unpatriotic not to tell the truth, whether about the president or anyone else.

Guess I've never understood your deep, obsessive hatred for Bush...he wasn't my favorite (McCain was) but he was definately the lesser of the two evils (Gore)...(shrugs)

Personally, I've never "hated" someone that much, ever....

You'll find many of my posts saying that 2000 election was the year we held our nose going to the polls, yet you label people like I as bush lovers...never understood that, but then again, I don't have a full grasp on psychological conditions you live in daily..

I wish TR was alive, I would ask him by who's definition does he speak. Seams to not really say anything other them if you agree then bully and if you don't then bully also. If I agree with the Pres then it's OK if not then thats OK also.   Find a better Quote plaese.

My comment in regards to 'being served' means I don't feel they are "serving" the majority of Americans.

There's obviously a majority of Americans who agree with the "conservative" rhetoric coming out of the Republican party...too bad they don't practice what they preach isn't it?

The Fourth Branch of Government
is the People

What they didn't tell you in school

In school you were taught that the Government has three branches, the Legislative branch, the Executive branch, and the Judicial branch.

The Legislative branch is the Congress and they make the laws.

The Executive branch is the President, who runs the daily business of government.

The Judicial branch is the Courts who interpret the law and determine of laws are constitutional. These are the three branches of government you were taught in the government-controlled schools.

 But there is a fourth branch of government, and that's the People.

 Some would argue that the People are not a branch of the Government.

They would argue that we have a government that is of the People, by the People, and for the People. They would argue that through voting that the Government represents the People and that the Government is the People. In theory, and in an ideal world, this would be true. And for the most part it is true.

But there are time when the Government does not represent the People and that the interests of the Government are not the interests of the People.

There are times when the People have to assert their will directly and overrule the Government and assert the supremacy of the will of the People over the will of the Government.

The Government Exists for the Sole Purpose of Serving the People, not Ruling the People  

The supremacy of the People is preserved throughout all the documents and papers used in the formation of the Government by the People.

The preamble to the United States Constitution states, "We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

Clearly the Constitution was created to form a government who's sole purpose was to serve the People and for no other purpose.
