3 Day would allow ~ 10 different maps per month. Hmmmmm... 2 day rotations?  ;)

cc, shorter rotations could be nice. At least 2th per week, monday and wednesday may be?

Heh, you will be rich :)

Actually I know several people who like pizza a lot, but it is generally probably one of the most unliked map around. I heard Trinity were changed, can't you update Pizza as well? Change alts, turn some vh fields into airfields, and change textures to less eye unfriendly, and I bet many people will love it.

They've updated pizza at least once already....   The only good fights for me are over water on pizza.... even with the terrian update you still can't see crap ... there might have been pleanty of deserts of similar color in  WWII, where air combat took place .. but nevertheless the pilots wern't looking at 1600X1200 resolution 20" boxes.

I spend pleanty of time at 20K in jug on all maps ....

Yesterday when pizza was up in error, I took a P47 from a 12K airfield, and went hunting. Landed 4 kills. No big deal, but I would probably have struggled to find this type of fight on another map in a P47. I was able to get to 20K in a reasonably short space of time - and that's where most of the fight took place. Later on, when the children's map was on, I couldn't get much higher than 8K before being spotted by cons...

sounds like your upping and climbing towards nme rather than grabing away.   if you climb towards enemys of course they are going to spot you ... if you up from a field being attacked don't exepect freedom to grab, take off from the field behind that one if you want that much alt.

You also speak of realism beet1e.... do you really find 12K fields to take of from realistic?   cause you know there was so much air combat in the Himlayas, and it was completely a desert 50 years ago

The map doesn't resemble planet earth.... trinity does this too, to an extent, though not nearly as bad (the 20k mountains everywhere- what 13 -14k isn't enf?!?!  rockies are a big mountain chain (bigger than the alps) it's higest peaks are around 14k).
10K canyons!!!   with straight cliffs! .... this is not realistic and has the ability to foil SA beyond what a realistic canyon could do. 10k con can't be seen till they are right above you diveing... total BS in any realistic canyon this alt advantage would be greatly reduced along with the huge amount of LOS lost to this horrible idea ...

btw no offence to AK's I think they understand that.
I thank them for thier hard work on pizza ... but I hate it

I dont play on the Pizza map.
For what its worth, I had thought that kind of symetical map would be great. But it didnt work and it is painful to play on. alot was learned that was applied to the Trinity map which is the only map we have that can sustain a week of play. Dont like pizza and dont like being banished there for a week.

Manedew - well you made some good points in your reply to me. I have always believed that the Pizza is a ridiculous map. This is what I said about it on Sept 13,2002 in this thread started by Urchin:
Quote
It has some good points - furballing and gangbanging are reduced, just as dbeav points out. It's different but, as I said the first day I saw it, it is a quite ridiculous map, and I doubt whether we'll be using it three months hence of when I first said it. It's not really a map on which the war can be won, because there will be several little wars going on all around. For example, the vehicle fields on the outer crust provide for some GV battles, but those fields are of no consequence to the main airfields - unless you planned to launch an LVT and sail across to the mainland for a field capture, assuming you had a few hours to spare. I also note that the three central islands have a vehicle base, but no airfield, and therefore these vehicle fields are of no strategic importance, and it's a bit of a waste of time going after them.
I also said somewhere else that it was a waste of time to have all those fields, as combat would always be at the frontiers. I was wrong about how long it would last - nine months since I said that and we're still playing it. But clearly, the map makes no attempt to model any particular geographical region in any part of the world, although Bryce Canyon in Utah springs to mind. 12K airfields? The highest in North America is at Leadville,CO - elev. 9927.

But do any of the other maps model reality? The small maps? Hardly... where in the world were airfields located 5 or 10 minutes apart?  Or a three sided war, with Spitfires killing Spitfires and 190s killing 190s? Steamrollering hordes? Like any map, Pizza has been engineered to provide gameplay. No it's not realistic by any means, but the gameplay in some cases is "less unrealistic" than that to be found on the children's maps.
