Perks Awarded at reset
« on: June 17, 2003, 09:27:18 PM »
We've already got a variable perk system based on how many players are on for each country. How about the system is expanded to award reset perks the same way?

Right now, you get 70 perks (I think) in each catagory if your country wins the war.. a change

If your country has the same number of players as the country that lost the war, you get 100 perks. Then, that number can be reduced by the same percentage of numerical advantage the winning country has over the loosing country.

Example 1. Rooks have 100 players and knights have 100. Rooks win the war and get 100 perks

Example 2. Bish have 200 players and Rooks have 60. Bish win the war and get 30 perks (Rooks have only 30% players of Bish)

To prevent the loosing country from simply logging off, give them the same percentage of the perks the winning country did not get. In example 1, there is no number difference, so the loosing country gets 0 perks. In example 2, the loosing country gets 9 perks [ (100{max perks allowed} - 70{perks not earned by winning country}) * 0.3{percentage of players}

you only get 75 perks, 25 in each category.
Surrounded by suck and underwhelmed with mediocrity.
I'm always right, it just takes some poepl longer to come to that realization than others.
I'm not perfect, but I am closer to it than you are.

I think if you win the war, the game should reset and the side with the best kill ratio's get the perks. That might get rid of the deck bomber runs and the suicide dive bomb group attacks. If you have the numbers to force a reset, you should be able to maintain a good ratio anyhow. If your're only after the reset at all costs, then you shouldn't be rewarded for it.

It makes no sense to adjust reset perks based on #'s because the 'bucket' country usually logs off in droves near the end because its pointless to try and take off from the last 2-3 25% fuel fully capped fields.

And now you want to REWARD the losers for 'showing up'

Anyone else think this SCREAMS DEMOCRAT.  Why the heck REWARD FAILURE....its just so counterproductive.  If you REWARD FAILURE, you ENCORAGE FAILURE.

In my opinion, it dosen't reward failure but more individual success and more accurately models number attrition. Of course, your bold font makes your position more poignant but I can't see how rewarding people for flying into buildings is any more valid an argument.
