Quality dance music groups

Mutually exclusive.

Dance music is very much jigsaw music. I'ev analyzed, together with a friend who does some music-esque studies at the university, how dance tunes are put together. There are four different basic ways - and amazingly enough, if two songs are in the same category you can basically replace the riffs or soundbits and they will sound *virtually the same*.

No, factory produced music is not for me.

Actually, either those 2 girls or whoever is managing their marketing is a genious.

I never heard of them, but I looked up their website.

I see 2 very pretty girls posing in lots of pictures with either school uniforms and/or morning attire (white skeleton shirt/boxers..not underwear per say) and being...feminine.

That last word is the key.

DL'ing a few songs of them from kazaa now, hopefully they will sing well too :)

And not for me too.

But you can't imagine what a stream of crap is pouring on us from the radio and TV for last 10-12 years. Tatu and some more "artists" are good enough not to make me vomit.

If you want some "hand-made" music from Russia - take a look at this:

http://www.crossroadz.ru/new/?music

The band is great, and I try to visit every club concert they make. Records can't give you mere 10% of the impression they make live...

Please, if you know a better European blues band - let me know.

BTW, the song was recorded in 1991, in Soviet times.

Sorry :)

It's not Ural, it's a KRAZ.

Usually they are coloured in khaki, so I didn't look close and thought it's an American car.

KRAZ is a very big truck. They are used as heavy tows and timber transports. They are real "kings of the road", they don't pay attention to traffic rules.

try http://taty.us/

or

http://taty.ru/

You will have a lot of pictures AND video clips. I like the one from "simple motions". The photographic aspect of it, especially on the one waiting at the bar while the other is "spacing out" is well done.

simple motion, not gona get us and all the things she said (even 30min) ... like you guys said, the marketting with the "lesbian pure love little girly" of the band is a killer.

Back in the late '80s at a club here in San Diego, I watched this one band from the USSR that blew me away.  I can't recall their name but the style of music was, as best as I can describe it, psycho-billy music (like The Cramps and Rev. Horton Heat).  They all wore black suits and had these freakish pompador wigs on and did nothing but old R&B and rockibilly covers.  They were pretty big on the alternative music scene in the late '80s and early '90s but for the life of me, can't recall their name.

Another really cool Russian band was one called Lenny and the Cosmonauts that played nothing but surf music in the Dick Dale and Ventures style.

Then on the completely other side of the spectrum is Autograph, which has to be one, if not THE, worst band that ever existed.  Why couldn't you guys send them to the gulags when you had the chance?  You would have done the world a favor and at the same time find a new and cruel punishment for the gulag inmates.
